@bettytaghetti we can go out for groceries but DH (in the military) usually gets them on his way home as he’s still having to go to work...I haven’t been further than the bakery downstairs in weeks! Luckily the local pizzeria still delivers though...

Is anyone else struggling with the Battle league? I’ve been stuck at level 7 for what feels like forever and seem to keep taking one step forward and two steps back..would love to get to level 10 to get the Pikachu Libre!

I’ve been incensing a lot from home to try and catch something exciting, would love a shiny Croagunk or Soodoowoodo...has anyone got any shinies this event? Can’t wait for the Spring event next week as I might be able to hatch something good (using the sock trick as I can’t go out!)

They're not going to give high value encounters for weekly rewards when do many people can't even get to a stop to spin it.

What's the sock trick?

Another one stuck on level 7! You need 10 wins to get to level 8, then 2,000 rating points to get to level 9, and 2,500 points to get to level 10.
I get the theory behind the battles, and am pretty good on the resistances and types but just lack the resources. I don't even have enough candies to take my cresselia to 2,500 let alone buy a second move. My highest giratina doesn't have the best stats for PvP, or a second move, so I'm using left using CD Pokémon.
I tried the swampert trick with Sierra yesterday. I did win easily, although nearly lost the will to live on the lapras. I was tempted to earthquake it. I'm going to look for Arlo as soon as I've got another radar.

@dillite the sock trick is AMAZING...basically make sure Adventure Sync is on, completely close the app, put your phone in a sock and bounce it up and down... I do it while watching tv in the evenings and can easily sock 100km+ in a week! It’s a lifesaver at the moment. This video explains is a bit: . Happy socking!

I've been looking at getting a robot hoover and putting my phone on it but I'll give the sock trick a go.

I'm looking forward to remote raids, aren't you? The extra distance on gym interactions has meant bestie and I can reach some gyms from the car we couldn't previously reach.

As to the 'sock trick'- I need to get one of those phone cradle things that mimics walking so earns candies faster. I've got a Got-cha type thing for both my phones and have them working better than they were before.

I'm enjoying the new battle thing- it's quite a bit of 'work'/time though if I want to get all my fights in for both my accounts each day! But I like that there's such a good way of earning stardust and candies for me- I know some people have millions of stardust but I don't unfortunately lol.

Am not looking forward to the next League, as I'm level 36 (and baby acct L30) so a lot of players' mons might be stronger than mine. In general I've done fairly well tho (both accts level 7.)

Went to the park today and put on a glacial lure to try to finish the genesect research. Couldn't stay the full time but got a few ice types, and a clamperl!

Life here is pretty easy, partly a mixture of the Dutch approach of an intelligent lockdown (which may work, or may cost more lives, the jury is out) and partly because of where I actually live. Small village, lots of farmland, and an insane amount of Pokestops! Everyone is still out and about because there's enough space to avoid each other. Shopping is okay; the only thing I can't get is cheap flour, just the posh stuff in boxes.
DS is in a class of 18 so Teams has now turned into actual lessons. They also have online work set, which is checked, and collect a worksheet packet and books at a designated time on a Friday. This can then be left all weekend to reduce any possible contamination.
I worry about my family though. Life is pretty shit for them. Those in London and the home counties are still struggling to get food and can't go out. MIL, BIL and FIL are all in the extremely vulnerable category, DM is looking after my 99 yr old grandma and her twin sister. (Looks like their 100th party is off). DF and his partner live in a rural community so backward that the locals think that elderly people are carriers , and my dear cousin is an asthmatic nurse. I have no idea when I'll see them all again. I suppose we're all in the same boat there though.
Right back to Pokémon!

WotnoPasta I've been running away from mine just on the off chance I might get the catch a dragon task and then I can just use the alolan exegg for that. Will have to claim it before next week's but then will sit on that one too. At least it doesn't have a bloody hat on it! 😂

I've managed to bump up the pokestop count in my village from 2 stops and a gym to 8 stops and 3 gyms, so that's making for a far more exciting daily walk at least. I'm still waiting for a couple more nominations too so could have more.

Still wish I could make my house a stop.

Are there certain requirements?

Fiddlers, you have to be level 40 and the place you've chosen have to meet certain criteria. We have an ingress player who does a lot of ours but I ha e my eye on a spot on the school run when I finally get to level 40!
