You have to walk to unlock battles?! Because I have nothing better to do.

I let my sons loose on the battles and they (eventually) won five in a row and got a snorlax in the encounter.
They got two gos at the five battles, I don’t know whether this is because I walked 10k or whether you get a freebie every day?

A question to those of you that seem to have lots of shinies - are you playing a lot? I play every day as I walk the school run, can spin 3 pokestops and gyms each day, exchange gifts almost daily but I hardly ever see shinies - maybe once or twice a month... I feel like I play alot and am quite addicted, up to level 29 since starting at the start of October... X

A gym has disappeared from the end of my road. That sucks as it was my nearest stop.

Shinies are so random. I play more than DS but he always gets more than me.
Yesterday he caught a couple of magikarp and got yet another shiny one. I have so far today caught 47 magikarp, and still not one shiny, ever.

I got a shiny koffing yesterday - so now I have 7 and worked out it is 1-2 per month!
I joined a local group as I need to do a trade to complete a research task but only one person is interested in trades and he only wants shinies - I don't want to give any up as they are rare enough for me!!!
I'll wait - one day I will meet a real life pokemon go player that I know and can get the trade done then!!!

dillite. Try reloading the game - the gym should come back. It's a known bug of the most recent version - gyms 'move' quite a distance away but are usually back in place if you restart.

Oh, was it the only gym in the area? Then it might be the bug. I can get gyms in C and G, but have to reload in both O villages. And what is really weird is that I can see G gyms on the horizon, the other side of the river, when in O.
Also apologies to JRTMummy for declining your invitations to battle but I was at the hairdresser's. Another time!

@jillandhersprite if I’m at a raid, I ask a friend for an ‘any for any’ trade just to complete a research task and most people will oblige. Usually last catch, something that you would have transferred anyway, it’s just that you trade and then transfer.

My 7 day reward was a blind bat! Another new addition for the sex.

Anyone get out for minccino? I got 13, one shiny and 3 tasks banked for tomo. Quite enjoyed that one, the tasks were far more sensible than the other two I did!

I didn't have much time free today but got out for the last fifteen minutes. I managed three quests and got two shinies. I've also got three tasks banked to keep up with the daily reward thing. I also managed to get this which I was was very pleased with. I normally do terribly with shinies so maybe my luck is changing!

I did an hour and got 4 shiny Minccinos.

Looking forward to the rest of February's events now, really want a shiny Hippo!

I forgot all about today's event, saw it with about 15 minutes left so nipped out and spun the two nearest pokestops for the tasks. As the first task was spin two pokestops I completed that, but I need to use a supereffective move in a gym battle to complete the second.

Managed to hatch a decent shiny Magikarp but didn't get around to evolving, and then two days later caught a shiny Gary.

Nice to catch up with you all for a bit. I keep getting sidetracked and forgetting to check out the current thread.

How did everyone manage to get so many shinies? I got 1 from 21 stops.
We couldn't get more without using the car, which we didn't.

I got 0 shinies. Although we only did 5 tasks due to having to be places.

Dillite I think the evolved form of darumaka is supposed to be one of the best fire types, or something like that. So nurture it!

Had a family lunch yesterday starting at 2pm, so couldn't participate in the shiny fest that the rest of my WhatsApp group seemed to be enjoying. 😢 Literally snuck out of the house at 4:45 and had to do an Austin Powers type of car manoeuvre to get past my brother's car so that I could spin the nearest 2 stops! 😂 Addicted? Me? No, never!

They are in eggs and wild too now, I've caught two wild since the event.

What's the surprise pokemon? Looks like onix from my nearby. Big wow.
