Shiny new thread starts here!

I’m glad for the new eggs/research as it helps me fill some gaps.

But it means everything I need at the moment is from eggs/tasks and not going out catching anything.

I miss going to get shadows.

Anyone else managed one of these yet?

Not the most spectacular shiny out there but still nice to add to the collection.

Now I just need to wait for DS to come back from university in the summer with his Switch to get enough candy to evolve it.

My meltan box also says I gotta wait 6 days to be opened again...but I thought the new thing was 3 days

Wasn't it three days the first time, and then six days thereafter?
I've got a couple of shinys and a 100%, but I already have a melmetal too. I'm not sure I can do the box thing another four of five times just to evolve them all. It was soooooo boring.
Tip: speed it up by opening the box during an event with double catch candy, as well as pineapping. We just need an event.

Barely catch anything I raid for 😅, Iv done about 10 Giratina raids and caught 2 🤦🏻‍♀️

Can we co-ordinegg to double the XP ? I have 2 more days before going Best Friends with @MrsJamin - so looking for a Sunday egging really to get the most out of the egg, although could do earlier as I need another mass evolving session to clear out various critters and make storage space.

Another shout out for @Gem250192 who I think is also a MN'er. We are 1 day off becoming Ultra Friends so there's an extra 50,000XP at stake if we co-ordinegg. Also Luco006 re Ultra Friends.

@RiddleyW - we have 1 more day before becoming Great Friends if you send a gift I can return.

Could we all agree a time on Sunday (or whenever) that we can list our pogo names under so that we can all work to levelling up at that time? Then we'll know who's on board for that time.

I will be due to level up with some of you, and I can be available any time from 1pm on Sunday

@MrsFoxPlus4 an ex-raid is an exclusive raid and only people who have received an invitation directly from Niantic can take part. Other players won't even see the egg above the gym, or the deoxys defence once it's hatched, although if they try to add to the gym or battle they'll get a message saying that the gym is temporarily closed.
Ex-raids are the only way to get the Pokémon featured!
Turn up at the raid at the start time as that's when most people will arrive. We all know each other locally so we've never met a 'random' at a raid. We organise ourselves into groups per team colour to get the most balls, as the team who do the most damage get extra. You also get extra for being (best) friends with other players, and having gym control. DS and I often turn up at raids early to turn the gym red.

Do you feed golden raspberries and throw curve balls? Curve balls in particular increase your chance of a catch. I also prefer to throw with my phone flat so lay it on a wall or on the ground.

My reputation at not catching legendaries was, ahem, legendary but since Mr40x10 critiqued my throwing style and gave me some tips I now catch them more often than not. I was over-spinning the ball. Now I just draw a 6 on the screen, going round once, twice, and then up. You can watch YouTube videos before the raid too, which helps timing the throw. I throw during the attack, which at first is scary releasing the ball when there's no circle, but it appears as the ball hits. And if the previous attack had started with the inner circle being on great, you'll hit on excellent. They call it setting the circle. (actually this is still a work in progress for me.......)

How do you get the meltan box? Do you need a Nintendo switch?

JustLooking2019 yeah or if you have a friend who has one they can send you a box in your company that’s what I done last time :)

BaronessBomburst I know what raids are lol. Iv just never received a ex raid invitation so didn’t know what to expect. Yes use a golden razz curve ball my catch rate for legendaries just isn’t great! It’s on the 4th so we will see how I do or f anyone even turns up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Happy to wait until next time you have an egg to use. We can just hold off sending gifts until then. Doesn't matter to me how long the wait is as I'm approaching the end of level 39 and after that it takes 5 million XP to get to level 40 which will take forever even with the not insubstantial number of friends I have !

Took me 15 out of 16 balls to catch a shinx earlier
