My best swinub today was this cutie, all the other ones were below 70iv.

Am I the only one who is unable to accept battle invites? I click accept and then nothing happens. Literally nothing, it just remains the same, allowing me to catch pokemon. It's really annoying.

Why am I getting candy when I evolve a pokemon? I had 50 scyther candy, evolved it and was left with 2 candy afterwards. Same with this kubone.

I evolved the 98% Swinub I already had but didn’t manage to anything decent today in terms of IV. I did manage 6 shinies and caught 2 out of 3 Palkias.

DS3 caught a 100% Palkia and was absolutely thrilled.

I wish there was a little sign or something next to a friend 's name saying that they are online and up for a battle. It would make it so much easier than clicking on random people in hope that they will be there.

@betty that’s fine - I got all my battles done. I kept asking as I find it so glitchy I sometimes have to start a battle 3/4 times before it works

It works for how it was intentioned.

PvP was never really designed for random people on the internet who don’t know each other bar sharing a friend code.

It was designed for genuine friends, whether local or distance, as close friends will communicate effectively and be able to organise battles.

Hoping someone you don’t even know might be online at the same time as you is just silly, and not what PvP was intentioned for.

It’s certainly good for those who don’t know players in real life, and rather lucky you can do it considering distance trades aren’t allowable, but the cost of that is that organising battles is going to be trickier, because you’re not using it as it was designed.

I don't think people playing the game is any way they choose is "just silly". You're just being rude frankly.

Not everyone has the time or inclination to get involved in large local groups. The system is flawed because a successful business (which is what niantic is) should cater to its whole customer base in order to retain them.

I’m actually friends on their with my neighbour. I have to text to arrange a battle (or maybe I should knock on her door?).
Why didn’t they make distance a factor like trading if you aren’t meant to battle people a distance away?

Yy, there should be a system to show a player in online and available to battle. A simple dot next to there name would suffice. Even ‘real’ friends organising a battle is still clunky as you’d have to text to pre-arrange times, where as I imagine most people (me included) are more spur of the moment. If I get 5 mins I pop on PoGo to see what’s around.

I do think it might be something they’ll end up introducing in the future though if enough people give them feedback on it.

My point is that we’re all online randoms to each other on this thread, regardless of in game friendship status. None of us know each other, we’re not genuine friends, just a group of people who’ve shared codes.

That’s not what the system was designed for. It’s great that you can battle long distance, but it was never designed for random internet people sharing friend codes.

If one day they add these features then that’s great, but PvP was introduced for genuine friends who can communicate effectively when wanting to battle.
