It's really just luck!

I think someone said something about it not being weather boosted so you can tell but I could be wrong.

Tinkerbellisnotafairy · 09/11/2018 12:35

I didn't realise you could catch Gyrados in the wild! :O

Tinkerbellisnotafairy · 09/11/2018 12:47

Help Help! Pokémon SOS!!

I just evolved my Grotle (so evolved an evolved Grass type Pokémon) but the task hasn't updated!! Shock

Any ideas oh wise MN Pokemoners??

BaronessBomburst · 09/11/2018 12:49

Neither did I! Shock

SneakyGremlins · 09/11/2018 12:49

It was during the water event Grin

Have you tried restarting your app? It should have worked.

BaronessBomburst · 09/11/2018 12:49

Reload the game?

SneakyGremlins · 09/11/2018 12:50

You can still catch it in the wild but the chance is miniscule.

BaronessBomburst · 09/11/2018 12:52

Magikarp flee.
Abras flee.
This morning even an Aron broke out of an ultraball and legged it having scoffed a silver nanap first.
Bastard.

BaronessBomburst · 09/11/2018 12:54

Pinap!

Tinkerbellisnotafairy · 09/11/2018 13:01

I've restarted it and nothing!

And I can't see how to report it on the Help thing.

SneakyGremlins · 09/11/2018 13:04

It's not just a game...

Grin

Maybe it doesn't count the new gen ones for some reason?

Tinkerbellisnotafairy · 09/11/2018 13:52

Having done some extensive Googling when I should be working it looks like you're right, sneakygremlins. Gen 4 Pokémon aren't part of this task yet.

Oh how frustrating!

Now I'm going to have to start all over again with my Weepinbell!

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 09/11/2018 15:17

Gen 4 Pokémon aren't part of this task yet.

Tinkerbellisnotafairy Considering the task was released before Gen IV and the majority of players have completed the Celebi research, I would gather there’s next to no chance of Gen IV ever being added to it.

It hadn’t crossed my mind Gen IV would be excluded (although Grotle wasn’t part of the original list I posted a few days ago), but when you think about it, it makes sense; the Pokemon approved as acceptable for that task were months before Gen IV even came out.

It sucks for you, though Sad Though you do have a few more options:

• Gloom
• Ivysaur
• Weepinbell
• Bayleef
• Skiploom
• Grovyle
• Lombre
• Nuzleaf

Tinkerbellisnotafairy · 09/11/2018 15:32

Thanks Wailmer. I've got a Weepinbell and I've got 50 Bellsprout candies already so shouldn't take too long.

Just annoyed at myself - it didn't occur to me to check. I just typed in "Grass" in my Pokémon and I had the most Turtwigs, so went from there.

Infographic for tomorrow’s community day Smile

Definitely make sure you’re sticking a star piece on every half an hour! Combined with the 2x stardust from CD and the 2x bonus stardust from the event you will make a lot of dust Smile

I don't like Kricketot, oh no, I love it, yeah
SneakyGremlins · 09/11/2018 17:24

I have no star pieces Sad

TangelasVine · 09/11/2018 18:42

Ooh this is the first ever community day I can actually do. I'll be on a train but should be able to get some pokemon when it stops.
And also do the 8 new stops Smile

TallulahBetty · 09/11/2018 19:08

I'm excited for tomorrow as we're going in town which I've never done before for community day. I usually never get enough of anything to evolve to the special moves etc. Might even push the boat out and pop a starpiece Wine

Tinkerbellisnotafairy · 09/11/2018 19:20

DS is very excited for community day tomorrow. I'm just hoping i might actually catch something shiny!

Sorry for yet another annoying question - what do star pieces do?

SneakyGremlins · 09/11/2018 19:24

50% more stardust for 30 minutes Smile

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 09/11/2018 19:44

I’ve attached a chart showing how much stardust you can earn for different Pokemon depending on their evolution stage, whether they’re weather boosted and if you pop a star piece on Smile

I buy a lot of boxes so I have an abundance of star pieces (92 Shock) and will be dropping one every half an hour along with a lucky egg.

If you have star pieces, I massively recommend popping one on every half an hour (if you’re prone to forgot, set an alarm so you can replenish).

dillite · 09/11/2018 20:15

what and betty I am not saying that you are at all wrong in that IV's do not change, I was simply sharing my experience. I even carried out an experiment today where, after entering the appraisal for this starly I was given an IV of 84. I then evolved it and once I entered the appraisal for the evolution, I was given am IV of 85. So a slight change. And as I say, I have experienced it before also.

MonaChopsis · 09/11/2018 20:17

I agree with dillite, I have checked stats on PokeGenie before evolving, and again after evolving and found it has moved up or down slightly. Never a massive change, but quite often up or down 2-3%.

I have not got any lucky Pokemon Sad I need to find locals to play and trade with!!

dillite · 09/11/2018 20:18

I wish that a shiny cyndaquil looked a bit more exciting that just some dirty shade of orange. A nice bright colour would be quite nice.

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 09/11/2018 20:41

Again, it’s a case of the information not being read or input correctly; IVs do not change upon evolve.

I can tell from your screenshot dillite that you aren’t putting in the full appraisal as you have three possible IV combinations. This will be why you think they change when they don’t.
