Old thread was almost full and it had to be done.

One theory I've heard for some people getting generic place gifts is that a recent update changed the font size for the places, but coded it badly so depending on screen resolution some people only see the latter bits, ie "England, United Kingdom" rather than "London, England, United Kingdom."

I saw a few screenshots that seem to include the first comma (, England etc) so I think there is possibly truth in that.

Thanks to all you lovely folk who have friended me - research task is done and we are well on our way to getting through the rest. We caught loads of chikoritas yesterday and lost count of the shiny ones there were so many-- DS has done his thing and evolved whatever needed to evolve lol.

Just got the grass and psychics to go and then Celebi is mine! Where's creepy Mr Mime when you need him eh?
That feels like it's gone a lot quicker than Mew which took me ages.

I didn't get any high level battle with the best of them chikorita, either, thanks to the weather being wrong, but I did already have a couple of lucky bayleef, so I evolved both of them and a shiny. Meganium is adorable but nowhere near as good as venusaur in battles.

I'm getting a few gifts through with the full location on, but it's not consistent.

Anyone else feel a bit flat after completing Mew and Celebi? Feel like all I'm aiming for at the mo is getting the regionals (out of my control) and Mewtwo (which sounds like it could still be difficult for me).

That's odd "dillite" I haven't checked what I got but I didn't have an egg on anyway.

Didn't get many chikorita today due to a kids birthday party and traffic, got enough to evolve the Maganium though.

Ouryve I'm so sorry, I missed our Ultra friending on Wednesday (I'm PinkBlaise)- I was running a staff conference for two days and my head was not in the 'mons! Hopefully you might have got a gift from Manchester though!

Then after 3pm I turned the game on and the ultra notification appeared- do both of you have to trigger it for it to appear? I have to say I haven't been paying attention to how it works and only over the last few pages have seen that you need an egg on for when you are going to go ultra. Anyway, it's not the end of the world.

what as sils has said, my gifts appear to have the (,England, etc) locations rather than the actual place names- I thought maybe it's to hide player locations but it being a glitch makes sense.

Did any of you think that the Celebi challenge was easier than the Mew one? It felt like that to me.

I've seen a few people saying the notification has been delayed and so they've missed the XP boost within the egg time dillite. From both sides (sender and opener, though generally not both of one ultra!) Nobody seems to know the cause though.

dillite No; only one of you has to trigger it and it will appear for both (if the other player doesn’t have the game on at the time it is triggered, it will appear when they next log in).

It can be a bit tricky. You turn the next level of friends when it says 1 day, however if it says 1 day but the blue ring is around them, it will be the next day (tomorrow rather than today iyswim) as you’ve already interacted that day. If there is no blue ring and it says 1 day, if you or they open a gift or raid together the next friendship level will be triggered.

You don’t need an egg on for going ultra; it’s just a lot of players like to have an egg on so they get 100,000 XP rather than 50,000 XP

If any of my friends (im Nexis in the game) would be available to do a trade for the Celebi task I would be really grateful. I work in the City if anyone is local. I don't play with anyone irl since my husband gave up a while back. It'd be nice to meet a fellow player.

On the bright side-- I hatched a taurus so only kanga to go now.

I bagged a load of Kangas when they were in London so I'm okay for them. I have my Taurus just need one for dd now. How long is the event on for?
