Never thought I'd be saying this but..... I'VE COMPLETED GEN 1! Taurus fell out of a egg this afternoon after many miles of walking and hatching mainly useless 7km eggs.

Igneococcus and greyspottedgoose - there are several posts about this new Pokemon up thread (on Saturday 22nd).

I’ve finally hatched a Tauros so Gen I is complete My Gen I dex had been missing only one for months now so I’m glad to finally finish it off.

Gen II only needs Heracross (regional) and Smeargle (not yet in game) while Gen III is complete except for the 9 Pokemon from it not yet released into the game and the four regionals.

Can anyone advise me please! I am finally ready to evolve my magikarp I have one who is a wonder and a 98% Pokemon except his CP is only 128 I can't seem to find any above this in the two years I've played do I evolve him or not? I need to complete my mythical challenge

I think the highest cp magicarp is only about 140 so evolve away!

anitagreen You generally want to focus a hell of a lot more on IV rather than CP, and you’re actually very lucky to have quite a high IV high CP Magikarp.

CP is largely irrelevant as it can be changed whereas IV can’t be.

I have CP 188 magikarp, no idea about it's IV, are they unusual? Thanks greenshadow I missed that about nut head. I didn't have time to look at it properly before catching it greyspottedgoose I had to sneak through a bus load of Canadian (I think) tourists to get to the shadow and tried to be quick. And what the heck is wrong with my carriage return?

I've caught a few 172 and 179 magikarp but they were all crap IVs. Well done tallulah on the Kanga. Still hoping I'll get one soon. I've seen absolutely no Mewtwo raids about either.

Igneococcus The max CP for Magikarp is 220, but you aren’t going to see that unless you’re pretty much level 40.

You can (and should) check its IV with PokeGenie. You take a screenshot, put in the appraisal and it’ll give you an accurate IV.

A quick test to see if a Pokemon is any good is to use the in game appraisal. If it’s a wonder/simply amazes/battle with the best of them (Mystic/Valour/Instinct teams respectively) then it’s worth putting through PokeGenie as it will be between 80% and 100%. If it does not have that first appraisal, I ditch it immediately; I only keep Pokemon above 90% IV so even many, many “wonder” Pokemon are far too low for me.

IV is important; not CP. A higher CP does not make a Pokemon good, it just means they’re a higher level so need less powering up (but why would you want to power up a poor IV one anyway?!).

We pretty much never do any raids because there is no point out here in the Scottish sticks, there simple aren't enough people playing. It's a very different game here.

According to PoGo on Twitter that nutjob thing is a new Pokemon for Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, and will be released as a Mythical Steel type in PoGo. Its name is Meltan. Most will turn into Ditto, very few will be Meltan. Good hunting. :o

I’m getting a bit bored of this event. I need a far fetched and kanga but had no luck with my eggs so far. I waited two years to find a diglet and now see 10 a day I suppose still better that rattas and pidgeys but I’m ready to move on!

All of my PoGo friends are from this thread. And despite numerous shout outs the last 4 have gone ultra without attempting to give me a heads up or answering my shout outs.
It's a bit annoying. That's 200 000 xp!
