I didn’t get much done on the community day as a (non-Pokemon-playing) friend wanted to meet with the kids. I caught one, shiny Squirtle around 60% IV that’s about it. And I have hideous toothache

Ds1 has a lot of anxiety about playing with others which is why he went to great lengths to avoid yesterday's articulo event.

I have a shiny new phone doing a system update. I've knackered the charging port on my Moto G5 and John Lewis had the honor 9 on offer for £160, on Monday, so it was an offer I wasn't going to turn down. well timed because this one barely had any charge left by the end of this morning, even with a power pack plugged in.

I was working for most of community day, but I did get an hour in which I managed to get 7 shinies - 5 of which were Squirtle Squad squirtles

Also got a couple 90%+ ones as well so pretty good for the small window I had!

Ooh I’ve got a dragonscale from a pokestop 7 day streak but don’t have any dragon Pokemon to use it on!

Kraggle Dragonscale is an evolution item that can only be used to turn Seadra into Kingdra

Ugg, have just realised I’m not going to be able to spin any pokestops for 2 weeks! If you stop getting presents from me for a bit it’s not personal!

Thanks for the dragon scale info, nowhere near enough candy to evolve my horsea yet to use the dragon scale then! I’m off to the seaside in the holidays so hoping to pick up more water Pokemon.

Kraggle No, it’s not. Shiny Wobuffet is bright pink (see attached picture) so very different!

You can also tell if a Pokemon is shiny by the three stars on your general Pokemon screen, and also the stars behind the Pokémon itself.

Also when you first click on a shiny Pokemon, loads of stars fill the screen so it’s immediately apparent when you’ve found one even if the colour difference is small

I think you've caught a female Wobbuffet Kraggle I don't remember when male and female versions became a thing but they all seem to have them now.

Male and Female have ALWAYS been a thing. but not all pokemon have a difference. @BouleBaker

Pokemon who has a notable visible difference between the genders include Wobbuffet (as @Kraggle has demonstrated) Doduo/Dodrio, Pikachu/Raichu, Butterfree, Gloom/Vileplume, Magikarp/Gyarados

To whoever was having the encounter glitch which froze the game every time you clicked on a new one I had the same problem until someone on my local Discord group found a solution. Your camera must enabled in your phone settings for the app, fixed it instantly (for me at least) then I just disabled AR within the app itself.

But I don't remember pidgies and weedles having a gender when Pokemon Go was first launched @SoupForBrains, but they do in the Pokedex now, although as you say many of them have no visible difference.

No you're right it was introduced in Gen 2 of the original games (for all but a very few pokemon) so not ALWAYS like I previously said. But it does feel like it's been always.

How was everyone's community day? I will go back and read, but thought I would ask simply out of politeness as well. We did well, caught over 100 squirtles, 5 shinies, several critters in sunnies. I had never seen this many pomemon go players! The high street was full of people on their phones. We also finally hatched an alolan vulpix! It was such joy after all of the rattatas and meowths.

We didn't get the mewtwo though. I couldn't leave work early so asked my brother to take DD to the raid. They arrived after everyone had entered the lobby, literally 1 minute late so DD couldn't join in. She was DEVASTATED. There were so many tears. She's still not talking to him now. He obviously doesn't give a shit as it's just a game. Hopefully we will get another ex pass one day, I will make sure to be off then.

Pretty mean not to exit the lobby. Last Mewtwo raid had someone who was 10 minutes late and people waited despite being on their lunch break and having limited time. (There were 4 groups which entered public lobby one by one) Did you hit lots of EX Raid eligible gyms on Articuno day?
