People on my Facebook group are saying the gym trick is no longer working for them. :-(

My group reckon it depends on when you got to the raid pass stage, if you had it before they fixed you can still do it, and if you only reached it after you have to do 10 raids. That seems to be the conclusion on the Silph road as well though it's still a bit confusing.

I’ve got a ex-raid pass! Bit suprised as I’ve done about six raids in total and only one with others. It’s half way between school and the after school activity we go to so we could in theory, but we usually drive which wouldn’t work. Depends if the kids think it’s worth the half hour walk.

Congrats! You only have to hit the ex-raid location during the specified window and you should qualify (however it is not guarenteed).

I have an ex-raid on Sunday and also another for the 23rd too.

Good luck for the ex-raids folks. I've got one during community day on Sunday and a pass for the 23rd that I can't use as I'm away. My last one ran so hopefully I'm due a good one on Sunday, fingers crossed!

So what are people doing with Mew? I think I'm just going to treat it as a collectable. Mine is mid-80s IV with Rock smash and Stone edge. I don't fancy the TM lottery, I'm currently low on them after a lot of move optimising recently, but even if I wasn't I don't think I'd risk it with those odds. I'm sitting on a chunk of rare candy in hope of a better Mewtwo - my best at the moment are 87% and a weather-boosted 84%. If a better one comes along I think that's a better use of the rare candy (the legendaries I want powered up are already done to at least level 30).

Is anyone else going for powering up or move changing?

Oh no! That's annoying if they've changed the doing several raids on one pass thing. Took me days to find a ditto and 10 ghost pokes so was hoping to do the 10 raids this w/e. Also we were supposed to be going away this eve for a party. But DH has hurt his back so we won't be able to stay over. Which now means I'll be around for the mareep event 2moro which I though I'd miss. Is it wrong to be a bit pleased!?

Hello, I’ve been lurking for a while and really enjoying these threads. Am loving the new research tasks, especially combined with the boosted amount of pokemon around - have reached the last stage before a Mew hunt but am still searching for my first shiny magikarp. Am also looking at boosting my sim card data as I’m zooming through my 4G allowance

So what are people doing with Mew?

Nothing, he’s not worth powering up so no need to alter movesets either.

I’m waiting for a Mewtwo over 90% before I start powering up (the two I have are 84% and 87% and that’s just not good enough), though I have ploughed a load of candies in to free up bag space.

My DC are going with their dad for an afternoon so it will be my first chance to spend a good while catching Pokemon! I don't really understand the raid stuff and every gym near me has really high CP Pokemon. I'm only level 10 so I won't bother with that stuff yet.

There is a good place near me that has three pokestops really close together, you can sit on the grass and spin all three without moving. Unfortunately it's well known of course and usually lots of people there. I am not good with lots of people I don't know and also I'm in my thirties!

Colly there is usually six spots in a gym. If is your colour and there’s a space you could slot one in

CollyWombles The majority of Pokemon Go players are late twenties/thirties/forties because the original Pokemon games everyone played came out when they were children and teenagers.

In our group of over 60, there are no teenagers and the only children are those of the parents in the group (and the children aren’t interested in playing).

As for raids, I would suggest waiting until you’re at least over Level 25. However, if you don’t like lots of people you might not want to take part in Level 4/Level 5 (legendary) raids as they require a fair amount of people to complete.

While you can play Pokemon Go as a solo player, the game is geared towards social interaction and groups, hence the requirement of several people for high tier raids, ex-raids and the community days.

where’s my ditto?

Is there any trick for getting one, because I’m getting fed up of waiting for one now?

On the plus side I’ve now got plenty of magikarp candy. And I’ve pretty much completed gen 1 except for regionals and legendaries and the elusive onix.

Rafals pidgey or gastly seem to be the ones to catch for gastly.

Helpful info: apparently you can still get multiple research credits for raids as long as you don't run away. Pick 6 trash mons and let them die, stay till the end, throw away mons. Rinse and repeat.

Sugar - is that one of the final tasks *for Mew? I have been playing this game since it started and I have only ever found one shiny and that was on community day (a rubbish bulbosaur). I have caught 100s of magicarp (I have 4 gyrados) and none of them has been a shiny. I shall be looking for a shiny magicarp forever!

I got my ditto in a ghastly. I wanted the ghastly as one of my 10 ghost Pokemon, but was happy with the ditto.

I managed to get an Onix in a 2k egg left over from the Easter event

Hi CollyWombles I'm also in my thirties. Most of the players I see hanging around seem to be in their late twenties or older, apart from the roving gang of teens who almost always arrive to knock me out of the most convenient gym to me, just after I take it!

I forgot to say, I'm Team Instinct. In a slight minority around here but only just, I'd say. If anything, I'm seeing an increase in yellow gyms!

Struggling to get my excellent curveball to complete the Mew task. Have thrown quite a few great ones but the excellent one eludes me

Does anyone know if the unown event is on again in London today?

I think Ditto will be easier to find after the Kanto event.

RafaIsTheKingOfClay There’s no trick to getting one, you just need to catch all the Pokemon that could possibly be a Ditto (see attached picture) and hope after you’ve caught them they turn into a Ditto.

tumpymummy You just need to evolve a Magikarp into a Gyarados; it doesn’t have to be shiny.

ChiefClerkDrumknott Team Instinct has the lowest number of players worldwide, by quite a way.

WhatToDo I’m a level 33 Team Valor member. Been out with DH and the kids this morning to complete all of the Mew tasks, just an excellent curve throw left to go.

Can’t wait for the Mareep catching tomorrow, but am very low on pokeballs now 😬

TumpyMummy you don’t need a shiny Magikarp to get to Mew, just need to evolve any Magikarp. I would really like to fond a shiny Magikarp to evolve a red Gyrados, DH has two. So greedy
