I have shinies so know about the icon and trail but wish that the colour difference was more obvious.

To me the difference is obvious straight away as I’ve been looking at Bulbasaur for the last twenty years, so a shade or two off just screams “not right! Not right!” to me 😂

@PickAChew, how weird that we're in the same part of the country, yet I've hatched a good three or four of them. Caught my first one wild though, on the bus at the Wheatsheaf bus stop north of the Wearmouth Bridge. LOL!

Ds1 has a couple. He's the jammiest sod, ever, tbf.

MuddlingMackem That’s not weird. You’re both in the UK and egg hatches are random throughout the country; no one area will produce more eggs with a certain Pokemon in.

PickAChew I’ve only ever seen the one Doduo and had to walk it a very long way to get Dodrio. Still never seen another!

iheartmichellemallon Yes; I’ve got a 100% Wailmer from incense and several starters and other rare Pokemon. Most of the time they’re just regular Pokemon but you do get some great ones.

We had a doduo nest nearby, a few weeks ago!

It could be to do with the current map issues. Niantic changed the hashing keys system so all maps are currently in the process of breaking the new api and are therefore down until it’s done.

I couldn't even authentiicate. Insisted on me giving all my traveller details again then told me that account already existed.

Got my first bulbasuar! I need the evolve of Ivysuar for my decent so fingers crossed.

No shiny yet and I am stuck in marking.

Shiny Bulbasaur! Not great IV (51%) however it's a high level (26) and it would make shiny Venosaur. Going to hold off and decide at the end of the event whether to evolve this one or a better IV, non shiny Bulbasaur. I don't have Venosaur yet so it will be Pokédex

Congrats cottonwool. No shiny for me this time. I think I cursed it be worrying that I might accidentally delete a shiny as it's similar in colour to the original.

Second catch of the event and the sun was shining. Unfortunately, once we got into town it was merely partly cloudy, there, but we caught a couple of cacnea before we got there. May have enough candy to evolve one before gen 4 arrives!

Got three shiny bulba and hatched an Azurill! Very happy with my shiny haul as I only got to play for the last hour of the event.

Thanks to Azurill I'm now on 111 Hoenn mon and can walk all the rest I need (not including regionals and unreleased of course)

Actually I just realised I had enough candy for two evolves so my only remaining now seem to be the Bagon evolves! I have enough for the first but holding out for a better Bagon.

Woohoo, great event! I caught seven shiny Bulbasaurs so I was very happy with that, and highest shiny IV was 70% so not too shabby My highest IV of all was 90%.

Some statistics specifically from the event:

• I earned 168,125 XP
• I gained 91,426 stardust
• I saw 149 Bulbasaurs
• I caught 141 Bulbasaurs (incl. 7 shiny)
• I had 8 flee
• I caught 0.78 Bulbasaurs per minute
• It took on average 1 minute 17 seconds to catch each Bulbasaur

Oh and I also hatched a shiny Pichu and all the XP I gained pushed me into Level 35!

I was out for the entire community day hunting bulbasaur and I didn't come across any shiny ones.

I'm thinking of contacting Niantic as everyone else seems to have found several, so why did they not appear for me?
