I have just done a lucky egg session and gained an extra 82,200 XP and seven new Pokemon

Annoyingly enough, it almost (but didn’t quite!) tip me over into Level 34, so I have just over 1,000 XP to level up, and will do that first thing in the morning.

Out of the seven new Pokemon, one was from Gen II (Togetic), so now I just need Forretress and Scizor to complete it (barring the two regionals and the two not yet in game of course). Therefore, Scyther will be my new buddy as I only need 15 more for him.

My PokeDex is now 312, with 70 from Hoenn as we go into the last release for Gen III tomorrow. It would be 316 with 74 from Hoenn but I’m waiting for a better Mudkip and Aron before I evolve either of them.

Aargh. I will make the gym by the bus stop Gold even if I have to do it 28 points at a time repeatedly beating the same 2800CP Pokemon being fed berries by whichever git lives or works within range of the gym.

New Pokemon

Fucksake, last night's EX raid was a nightmare. Went down with 4 accounts - me, DH, DD, DS1. Joined group, all fine. Me, DD, and DH all errored out partway through taking Mewtwo down, and couldn't rejoin, so we all missed it.

Fortunately, DS1 managed to stay in and caught it 2nd ball, so at least he's happy. And we'll be out over half term having a go at Rayquaza, too.

I’m very excited for Swablu and Pelipper just because they were always favourites of mine in the games

The two Pokemon you wanna watch out for In this batch are Salamence and Metagross; they’re the beasts and the ones you want the highest IV, highest CP to for

RueDeWakening our group would then have all jumped out and let you restart and then gone back in again. Last time we did it to last 5% then all jumped out so the yellow one could take it down on his own then we did it again and we all took it down. As the gym was blue beforehand we then all got equal numbers of balls. We discuss all these things beforehand.

I evolved my slaking today. I known should have waited till the 24th but decided to treat myself to a new Pokemon . He‘s my first over 4000 and I haven’t powered him up at all!

It does appear you need a lot less people (though I would assume this is with players level 30 and over).

I confess I am one of those people who has been sent an exraid pass but I dont raid. I have only ever done about 4 raids and that was ones I can do on my own, like magicarp. Anyway the exraid isn't far from where I live but I am just not sure whether to go or not as I am meant to be taking DS to a football match at the same time. Plus I'm a bit nervous about actually meeting some other pokemon players! From the local facebook group I can see everyone else going are students and I am embarrassed about being middle aged mum!

I would definitely advise caution about powering up Slacking. Its extremely high CP makes it seem attractive, but its unique moveset means its primary attack doesn’t actually do anything.

So I wouldn’t automatically rush to power it up (or at all, really).

tumpymummy Yeah, Niantic has admitted giving out those passes was a bug. If you don’t raid much I would take advantage of it.

The majority of the people in our WhatsApp group are between late twenties and mid fifties; we have hardly any students or early twenty year old’s, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there were people your age there

In the last couple of months I've got quite pally with another school mum whose DCs are a bit older. It suits us both to do a lap of the main pokestop/ gym area after drop off. We're on different teams so we nicely negotiate which gyms we're attacking or skipping for maximum coin opportunities.
I've got into a couple of WhatsApp groups which are more localised with a more managable flow of messages. The main one for the town was overwhelming when I was on it in the summer. Everyone I've met at raids is very pleasant. I tend to stick quite locally rather than heading into town so see the same faces most times.

What time does the new stuff start today?

Another wave of EX Raid Passes have gone out. Lots of people in our group with 2 EX Raid passes in their inventory 😵

whatToDoAboutThis2017 I took your advice especially with regard to slaking. I chose one who was already level 34 and a slightly lower IV (82% i think he is). Didn’t level him up at all. He was just over 1000 before I evolved him. No idea where I got him from and I waited till I had enough candies for him and no rare candies were needed. I know he looks good but is really rubbish.

I got an ex raid pass today after doing a one star on the gym this evening on my way to the carpark from work! It is a gym I have raided before though and a known ex raid gym which is why I went and did the charmeleon when I saw it come up on the radar.

tumpymummy go to the raid, they are fun and the more people that are there the better chance they have of taking mewtwo down.

I’m in two raid groups and in one I’m old enough to be the mum of some of the group and am the oldest one and almost the only female. They are a friendly bunch though and are happy to have me tag along. The other group is
the one around the hospital/park where
I work. That is older people though I think I am still the oldest and some students (medics and dentists mainly) even the odd professor or two. I’ve made some useful work contacts doing raids!

Murinae Yes, that’s a good Slaking Because Slaking isn’t that great, 82% is worth it with such a high level. Congrats on the ex-raid pass too!

DH and I went out tonight and caught a few new Pokemon:

• Sunny/Fire version of Castform
• Volbeat
• Swablu
• Swelllow
• Taillow

Also got a lot more candies for Numel so half way there on that one

For anyone that doesn’t know, Castform is very unique; it’s the Weather Pokemon, and you can catch four different versions depending on what the weather is.

So you can catch Normal Castform with Normal moves, Sunny Castform with Fire moves, Rainy Castform with Water moves and Snowy Castform with Ice moves.

It’s pretty much just one for the PokeDex, but it’s cool none-the-less
