SomewhatIdiosyncratic Considering Ampharos is one of the best electric Pokemon in the game, I would absolutely wait for a great Mareep. You'll want to use it a lot and a great one can be really powerful.

I've just collapsed into bed after a mammoth pokemon'ing day in London. I've done 8 Raikiu raids - but only caught 3 😖. I was timing my throws ok but he just didn't want to be caught. I also did a ttar raid. (40 candy 👍🏻). I walked miles... I made over 300,000 XP which far exceeds anything I've done before. I used two lucky eggs which helped.

Use the lucky egg. Even in minimal play mode I get through one a month. It doesn't take long to amass a dozen pidgeys and half a dozen rattatas, weedles, sentrets, ledyba and so on so you've got the 60 or 70 pokemon you're able to evolve with one egg.

Thanks the event I've just got Blissey remaining of what's available from gen 1 and 2 (excluding regional and legendary)
I've only got a very rubbish wild catch Chancey but will start walking and hope to hatch one, one day!
I suppose it doesn't matter too much if it's a bit rubbish as gym blocking isn't really useful under the new system anyway.

I don't think it matters too much if a blissey has bad iv. If it's sitting in a gym it just looks intimidating. I bin all my other rubbish IV mins but keep every blissey.

That's what I'm thinking Pokemongo so unless I hatch one before I've walked to get the candy that's what I'll do. It'll he nice to finish gen 2 before gen 3 drops properly. December I think so that's achievable

DS1 went back to catch it and his wasn't shiny, so he's now firmly convinced that his mum has totally lost the plot.

The shiny is unique to the person, so two people will click and it's shiny for one and not the other :)

Meh, didn't do any Suicine raids - I don't have the time to keep driving 20 minutes to the next town then waiting around for ages for people to arrive then no guarantee of catching it. Can't afford to waste the time and petrol. Legendary raids have spoilt the game for me, I've got a few but it's just become a chore.

Hatched a porygon today to evolve, so I now have all the 'normal dex' (i.e. Non regionals, legends, Uknown little non existent bastard ) with the exception of Ampharos, walking Mareep but still about 60 candies to go. Should have walked it more this event but been playing a lot more Draconius instead. PoGo is starting to feel like homework.

He's still denying I caught it, even though I waved its pokedex entry in his face :o

I did point out that he does happen to have 2 miltanks and I have none, plus it took me over a year to get my first snorlax!

I only do raids solo. There's a fb group and whats app for the city, but the whats app was far too manic to be able to follow. I left after 2000+ messages built up while I was on holiday in the summer. Not enough people accumulate in my neighbourhood to do them locally, and it costs time, petrol and parking to get to other areas of the city; too much faff.

I've not been very available for this event, but I've enjoyed the feeling of an event for all for the first time in yonks. I liked the gym upgrade, and solo raids, but events for random cities and having to get to specific gyms at specific times for a higher powered raid have left me cold.
It's been great seeing shadows/ yellow lights on the Go Plus for the first time in yonks rather than just grinding miles.

In the town I'm in there have been only 2 Raikou raids, both at the same gym, both around morning school run time. The local group flags up every 4 and 5* raid...

I agree the raids have ruined the game for me. Having to find a group, hang around waiting, travel places, have very little chance of catching it. I dont see the point. Just for a pokemon that you cant put in a gym, is not actually any better in battle than regular pokemon and requires a 20k walk for ONE candy.

Sod it. I dont bother now with them.

I like raiding, it's the closest thing I have to a social life. I get to play with babies and chat to eight year old trainers and sometimes we have a drink in the pub/gym. I'm not quite so in love with standing outside the post office in the driving rain.

Same here Icould. I've met some lovely people, we have a good laugh together at raids. 10 of us went on a day trip last weekend and had a blast. High level raids have made the game more sociable for me.

I did my first legendary raid today. I was in London and there were quite a few people in the lobby at the mainline station so I had a go. The game did it's stupid turning off thing right near the end but I managed to catch Raikou
Quite good fun but only really doable if I'm in London or another busy city as this was quite by chance.

The raiding has made the game so much better for me. It's so much fun, and our group has really bonded and we have connections for everything all over our town. It's brilliant!

Legendary Pokemon are better in battle than regular Pokemon if you know how to use them correctly.
