If those special boxes contained potions or max revives instead of berries, I would consider buying one or two. Lately I am finding it near impossible to get enough potions when I used to chuck them out to make space for balls. Yesterday I hit 50 pokes tops and only had 20 potions and no revives.

I had a couple of weeks of that last month, dilite. It seems to be fine now though. Except it's razz berries I can't get enough of.

Hatched cleffa from my 2k egg, so that's one of the 7 I can't walk added to the Dex.

Decided just to buy 3 incubators in the end. Seemed pointless wasting the time I could spend hatching stuff with double candy waiting to get enough coins.

Yep. You need a room in that building across the road. With the right bit of that building and a bit of GPS drift you might get both pokestops and the gym.

First Shiny

So which pokemon can you get shiny versions of? I was only aware of magicarp, which I still don't have.

Was just going to buy a special box then realised it was incense not lucky eggs! Lucky escape!
As for shiney's, just magicarp pikachu and sableye, AFAIK.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus You can currently get shiny versions of the following Pokemon:

• Magikarp (turns into a red shiny Gyarados)
• Pikachu (turns into an orangey shiny Raichu)
• Sableye

You can also hatch a shiny Pichu and a shiny Sableye.

Oh and if you caught Zapdos during a legendary raid, it's shiny, because they released shiny Zapdos as the default Zapdos (unknown whether or not this was intentional).

Shiny Pokemon are exceptionally rare, so they are very hard to find/hatch. The only tip I have is to check every single Magikarp/Pikachu/Sableye you come across just in case.

They're also independent, so if your friend sees one and you click on the same one, it won't be shiny for you and vice versa.

BouleBaker You can tell just by looking at them.

Shiny Magikarp and shiny Sableye are yellow, shiny Pikachu is orange. You also get an extra warning when you try to transfer them.

So more raids to get potions you say? Might have to start doing more of those. Ibhave to say that I have reduced the amount of raids I do ever since they stopped giving out rare candy for the lower grade raids.

Dillite2 Yep. In August they lowered the amount of rare candies, golden razzberries and TMs and added in potions.

You can still get rare candies from lower tiered raids, they're just rarer, because they've reduced the amount they give out altogether.

Just hatched a Snorlax from an egg! Good appraisal. However, his move set is Lick and Body Slam. That’s a bit pants, isn’t it? Worth powering up? I don’t have any TMs to use

cottonwool125 Snorlax is primarily a defensive Pokemon so you don't really want to attack with it, so it's current best move set is Zen Headbutt and Hyper Beam.

Zen Headbutt is good because it's super effective against fighting, and people mainly use fighting Pokemon against Snorlax.

Hyper Beam is good because it's an already powerful move that you get the STAB bonus for.

Since Snorlax is only really good to stick in gyms, it's not really important enough to use TMs on, particularly when you have none, as when you do get some, you'd be better off using them on powerful Pokemon you'll fight with where their moves are especially important
