Still no chuffing Mareep from a 2km egg, and a 10km hatched a fucking Sudowoodo. Harumph.

I have never noticed getting any candies when feeding Pokemon in a gym. How do u know u got some?

It says at the top right, above/below when it tells you you get 20 stardust. It's very, very rare though.

I keep an eye on candy drops at gyms and I've worked out that it's very random. I can have two candy drop really close together or it can have to use dozens of berries to get one. I got candies from two consecutive berries yesterday. I only feed Pokémon who's candy I need.

I have a massive dilemma. My flaaffy is 87% IV and is only 14 candy away from amphoros. But I also have a 97% mareep that I hatched last week. I know that I should wait, but that's an extra 125km!

Dillite2 87% is good, but 97% is close to perfect and considering Ampharos is the second best electric in the game, after Zapdos, I would absolutely wait.

It wouldn't be an extra 125km though, would it? Because when you have enough to make Flaffy into Ampharos, you'll have 100 candies... so would just need 25 more to make your Mareep into an Ampharos, right?

If Mareep walks at 1 candy per 3km, that's 75km.

So still a lot, but not as much as 125km, and you might hatch one in the time you're walking which would reduce your distance.

Oh and last Halloween buddy Pokemon earned candy 4x as fast, so even better!

So all that in mind, I would wait!

Mareep candy is 5k. Oh Lord how I know that after all these months!

Hopefully the Halloween event will include extra candies to cut down the 125k because I agree it's definitely worth walking for the better Ampharos, mine is 96% and is a much better battler than any of my zapdos.

Ahh, 5km then I was only guessing as I was lucky with Mareep and never had to walk it.

I would still wait, though, particularly with the Halloween 4x buddy feature if it comes back.

Last event egg was another tyrogue- boo.

What are the odds that I won't hatch a better mareep until just after I run out of patience and evolve flaafy... I've got a couple of 10k eggs in stock. I've had a long run of Pinsirs, Aerodactyl and Dratini recently so my optimism is feeling more than slightly jaded

Dillite I'm in the same position and have decided that in the long run it's much better to walk the extra distance and evolve the higher IV mareep. After all if you evolve flaffy what are you going to do with the 96 mareep? Start walking that one all over again?! And who knows we might get extra candies for Halloween.

I know, I know that waiting is the way forward. It just seems so far away still when it was so close. There better be an amazing halloween event. And hopefully if I do more raids, I will get more rare candy to exchange. Every candy counts!

Hatched another bloody Sudowoodo today. So not impressed. Haven't been here for a while so can't remember my last update but I haven't been out as much anyway so just a couple of hatches and hardly any raiding being done here. I have had to upgrade my Pokemon storage again as I was struggling with the same few spaces and having to regularly delete new low CP catches multiple times a day.

My walking buddy is showing -1.5. When this has happened before there was an event with reduced walking times. I hope it means one is coming!

When Project Flaaffy is done, it'll be Project Feralligator. At least I've got 51 candies to begin with having gained some through raids.

Feralligator shouldn't be hard to get as you can solo Croconaw raids. At some point they will change the raid bosses so worth getting them now while you can!

Yes! I finally got myself a Suicune (been working far too much ) and it is awesome!

The CEO of Niantic did an interview with a Taiwanese journal this week. Seemingly confirming Gen 3 will appear with the next game update?

Hi, hope its ok to join you. I'm totally addicted to Pokemon go. I was a little late to the game, I started end of August '16 when I got my first iPhone and just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. However, I was immediately hooked and have played every day since then! I've just levelled up to 34. I've completed gen 1 apart from legendaries and regionals, although I did manage to get 2 rubbish kangaskhans during that event. Gen 2 I've got most of. I still need flaaffy and a Ampharos, but I only have 1 mareep which I did start walking but have given up for now as I may as well wait until I have one worth evolving first as this was a wild catch. I also managed to get 3 unknowns in the event. I'm missing gen 2 legendaries and regionals. I live in London but not in an area that groups meet for raids unfortunately, so not sure I'll ever get a legendary.

I've just discovered poke genie so I'm slowly working my way through labelling good ones and deleting rubbish ones. I wasted so much dust and candy early on in game evolving and powering up the wrong ones! I've discovered I've got a 100% IV dragonite CP around 2000, which I'm currently walking to power it up. My first dragonite is over 3000 CP as I fully powered it up but is 70% IV.

Hoping for a good Halloween event and really looking forward to gen 3 now :)

Omg yes!!!! Finally hatched a Tyrogue!!!

That means that the six Pokemon I'm missing out of Gen I and II are walkable!

But what sort of tyrogue is it? It's evolution is predertemined.

Had an odd one this morning. A couple of new pokestops appeared in town, last week. Went down that road today and they'd gone again! They weren't even anywhere contentious. One of them was a working men's club!

I think whattodo has all the hitmons already and only needed Tyrogue from that family :)
