Yeah, I know I'm scraping the barrel now... :o But at least you get an earworm.

Still just keeping up the streaks, but yesterday I HATCHED A SNORLAX. That's No2, and I have 40 Snorlax candy.

I get it re grinding up Pikachus, it just feels wrong. I do it though, 'cos I'm heartless. Wink

The environment thing simply means they spawn more frequently in those places, not that they don't spawn a lot in others.

I finally had an afternoon to myself in our nearest big town and joined up with a group. I managed to catch 2 out of 3 Articunos. I think the catch rate must have increased. I did get 9 balls for each catch and I'm pretty good at curve balls.

It was a bit weird joining up with everyone else but they were all friendly and helpful.

I'm half way through level 38. I keep intending to give up but then those pesky people at Niantic keep roping me back in with new temptations.

I forgot to say but I got four 10k eggs from the same stop and they were all Mareep and now I have all the evolutions from the candy Grin The short walking times during the event helped.
Anyway worth remembering which stops you get the good and shite eggs from I reckon. They must rotate at some point but I think there's something in it.

I got an Articuno today GrinGrinGrin DH and I went raiding thanks to the new whatsapp group, and about 30 people turned up! It was really good, we split into teams and battled away.

Just hope Lugia will be around a little longer.

To the pp who said about lugia (sorry, am on phone and can't see the previous posts) it's sticking around until all the birds have been out as I understand it so you have a bit longer - congrats on the articuno!

The catch rate hasn't increased; it's still 3% base rate. Your chance of capture dramatically increases with a golden raspberry and a curve ball, though, as per the graph I have posted twice before on this thread.

It will be around to the end of the legendary birds run. There is a reason well versed for it's longer run in Pokemon history.

Okay, the reason Lugia is staying around longer goes back to the second Pokemon film, Pokemon 2000, where it is the 'Trio Master' of the legendary birds.

Hence it is staying throughout all three legendary birds' run.

Pokemon history is long and complicated but they are using it in the game and I'm so happy about that Grin

Moltres has been spotted and done in our town! They took it easily with 6 so 4 is probably doable.

That means you won't need as huge a group, but if you do have a huge group it would be wise to split into Mystic/Valour/Instinct to get more balls and more chance to catch it.

(It should be noted we are all high level players who know what Pokemon are good and what movesets they have. Lower level players who need to be carried will probably not do as well in small groups and will need bigger ones.)

Moltres will probably be the easiest to take down as it has so many weaknesses and won't KO your rock types, like Articuno does.

Igneo - does anyone else in your family play? If so what level are the accounts? A local group to us did it with just 3 of them but they knew all the moves and they were high levels (lowest was level 36 I think).

I'm headed out to meet a group of friends who all play in about an hour. There'll be 6 or 7 of us so we're hoping we should manage it without having to co ordinate with where everyone else is locally as I have the only car between us and we won't all fit!

Cakes ds is playing on my phone, he is only 9 and doesn't have a phone yet. It is his account, although I could get one for myself but would have to work up through the levels. I know one other person who plays close by and a few of ds's friends at school had started playing but I don't know if they still do or what levels they are. I know a few more people in town (6 miles away from where we live) who play but my phone doesn't have 4G there. Even if I could get everyone I know together for a raid I bet half of them wouldn't have coverage at one gym or another.
I'll have a few hours to kill in Glasgow in a few weeks time but the legendaries will be gone by then, I think.

Tried 3 this afternoon with our group of 6 and some from the local group. Beat them each time but the only person who managed to catch it was DS who is the lowest level of all of us at 24 😂 he clearly has better luck! Happy he got it though as he was last out the group to get the other 2 and we caught them for him so this is the first one he's caught himself. He's very impressed!
