Basically, what the players do in Chicago has an effect on what happens worldwide.

They get challenges and if they (and we in the rest of the world) complete them, we all get bonuses, like 48 hours increased stardust etc for catching a certain amount of grass types within an allotted time, etc.

This is all taking place on the 22nd July which is a Saturday. The challenges are set to take place at between 5pm and 7:30pm UK time, if my time zone calculator is correct.

Sorry, that should be 5pm to 9:30 pm. Not 7:30.

Deepest darkest lapland seems to be better than home - found another gym and pokestop the other side of the lake which are in sight of the farm. There's a raid there this evening so I'll take my little cousin with me to do it. Also caught an octillery which I've never seen before.

Oooh the event looks like it might be good, it's been rubbish so far! I'm working on 22nd until 4pm so can go out afterwards. Do have DS swimming party at 12:00 the next day though.

Had a productive day. From the local FB page, I've joined the message group for raids and used it to get a 3* Alakazam in a group. I got a Bayleef earlier which is gradually building up for my first Meganium.

My only frustration is the go plus being uncommunicative again.

My parents will still be visiting but I'll make up some excuse to go out.

Did a croconaw raid this evening and caught him and have set up a deal with my little cousin to alternate days at the nearby gym (he's luckily a different team) for the remainder of the holiday to maximise our coins)

I think the benefits the Chicago players will get will last at least 24 hours, probably starting the next day, as someone will have to make it happen on the server side.

I just came across this and thought that nobody but all of you would be able to appreciate the brilliance of this video. Most of those pokemon look absolutely ridiculous though and it's so obvious that they've run out of ideas.

I think it's just the fortnightly migration when the nests in parks change. Although it's the first time they've done a notification for it
