I caught (or tried to catch) everything I saw while I was out but that was more to do with me being 5k away from the next level. I caught a Skarmory, not something that I see everyday. I walked past a L4 raid but there was no-one there. I can solo a L2 and everything else I have to leave. I might sneak off to town tomorrow and see if I can find someone to play with.

Pretty disappointing that people went for water type and it's still bronze.

Well,we went to the park for the first challenge window and managed to catch 40 Pokémon. However, I'm a bit disappointed coming back to see the apparent chaos in Grant Park.

Well this is all a bit of an anticlimax! I was at a big park 5-5.30pm with lures on all the pokestops. Managed to catch about 10 Pokemon but game was really laggy and kept crashing. Gave up for the last 5 minutes as I couldn't log in. I was also expecting in game messages to say what is happening or being achieved, but nothing. Did we catch enough in the first session to unlock anything!?

Why the fuck do they keep going for water?! XP is the crappiest one! Egg distances would bring xP, and stardust, and candy!!

So, Chester offers so much but fell flat on its backside. Could hardly spin a pokestop, couldn't get into the gyms and as soon as we did anything other than spin a pokestop or catch a Pokémon (nothing special), the app crashed. App crashed multiple times, at least 30 or so. So many disappointed people in the city.

This is a total disaster. I love this game, I'd love to be able to love Niantic, but this is a disaster

If we catch enough Pokemon around the world in all three sessions, then they'll release a legendary. That's it.

Only the players in Chicago catching specific types will affect what bonuses we might get.

Probably because it's the most common type of Pokémon and you just need to be in maybe 100m or so distance of a water source and the fish start spawning.

Also many of the other types just don't spawn in many locations. When I went out earlier, I saw no fire, grass or rock type. There were a very few electric type that spawned, but they were all event Pikachu.

There were plenty of normal types and water though.

People at the Chicago Fest are getting their ticket refunded and $100 in Pokécoins.

Apparently the Mystic tent is near water and Mystic is outnumbering the other teams today. 😡

It's not over. It's still going on; people are just getting their tickets refunded and pokecoins if they can't connect.

That doesn't effect the thousands of people that are having no issues.

From reading online, it looks like a lot of players haven't even been able to get into the park yet.

Sure they'll get their ticket refunded, but what about those players that have paid a hell of a lot of money on flights or trains to get there? Feel for them. I would have been so excited to go, to have it pan out the way it has must be gutting

I'm following it on a couple of sub Reddits and it seemed the second window was stopped halfway through although I don't know for sure.

What time do they release the legendaries if the target has been hit?

Although iirc, they are not having raids after 9pm, unless it's different for this event.

Bimblesalong The legendary will be released first in Chicago, and they're behind us so it will be before the 9pm curfew for them.

If they defeat it, the same legendary will start appearing in gyms around the world from tomorrow morning (Sunday) to Monday night.

Also, it's only the one legendary I believe, Bimblesalong; the one that appears in Chicago.
