Hatches today were 2 Psyducks. They were both shite so got sent to the crusher. Hoping for better tomorrow, though as all my eggs bar one are 5km (the other is 10k) I really fucking doubt it will be.

A 45CP Magikarp got out of 2 balls and fucked off. I was both gobsmacked and outraged., I mean, what the actual?

Caught three Omanytes today, which will help me to complete my gen 1. I evolved a Pinecone thingy that came in a ten k egg, second one. Good day all round. Are the shinies for the event or are they here to stay? My dex is on 192 which I'm well happy with. Still need a Snorlax though.

Hatches today were a tangela, staryu, squirtle and cubone. I've caught quite a few magikarp, omanyte, chinchou and mantine.

The regional hunters group on Facebook came up trumps again for me last week and bagged me a corsola, two heracross and an unown. They really are excellent, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I'm up over 50 Magickarp candies today, so if I get the same tomorrow will finally be able to evolve, although I'm wondering whether I should wait in case I get a shiny one?

An omanyte spawned in my back garden, earlier, and didn't give me any bloody candy

DS1's phone's knackered, again. I've set up an old iPod touch which he can use to catch anything interesting - he gets about a minute before it decides it's got no GPS so can't catch anything and another minute before it crashes completely. That's more than the old iPad he's been using, which crashes before the game even loads!

I have a new phone coming tomorrow, so am selling him my current (not all that old, but the new one is much better and less than I paid for my current one) one

Well niantic were listening...just as I started to get bored an event started! Yay. I only need 200 magikarp candies now it looks possible? Maybe with a little walking too. Let's hope we all get a shiny! A guy on my FB group was slightly miffed his shiny was only 10CP 😨. That would be a bit gutting. Want a red to show off with though, I never put my gyarados into a gym as it is one of my strongest fighters.

There's already a red gyarados in a gym near me (evolution of a shiny). It's CP is 3116. Person must have been playing all day I reckon to get that. Mind you he is level 37.

I love my Gyrados cos it always wins gym battles against Blisseys!

Got a special item (only my third) in my 7 day streak and it's an upgrade, the only special item I have no use for.

Has anyone on here got a special item outside of their 7 day streak, since they changed it?

I am wondering if it's now only possible to get them with your streak, or whether pokestops still drop them randomly.

I had loads but all the same.

You have had 8 since they changed it to getting one guaranteed from the 7 day streak? Or do you mean altogether?

Would have loved king rocks and upgrades instead as I have an army of porygon to evolve and the rest.

I have a metal coat waiting for a Scyther, as yet unobtained. I have used two sunstones and am desperate for a king's rock! Dragon scale would be good too as my Seaking is almost there with candies.

That's so bizarre you haven't seen one. This is my army and with my candy numbers I could evolve about 8.

So jealous.

I seriously don't even have a shadow in my pokedex for Porygon.

I got loads at the valentines event they were everywhere. before that i only had 1-2.

We were drowning in Porygons during the last event here in St Albans. I had over 400!

I now have two steel coats and two upgrades but not enough candy for either to be of use!

More positive note.....I've hatched a decent lapras out a 10k egg!

Nice long walk this morning and caught a lot of magikarps - none of them shiny!! Did also get a kabuto which was a new one for me and that last poliwag I needed to evolve a politoed.

And finally levelled up to 29!

Pokestops drop special items randomly. DH and I have been hitting the same pokestops - I have one item sitting (not the one I need, already done both Metal Coats) and DH has 8 spare items, so it's not consistent.

Did catch a shiny Magikarp. They look the same on the map, each Magikarp has a small chance to be a shiny when you click on it. However, they also have a chance to be a ditto, read that someone caught a shiny and it turned into a normal Ditto.
