Pokemon Go #6: Where pokemon babies are abandoned in gyms at freezing temperatures

Well, saw this little one left overnight in a gym. Sad, really... Where are his parents? What were they thinking? Do they work night shifts too?

So many questions...

Soubriquet I don't believe the evolved forms of the babies are hatching anymore so you wouldn't get an Electabuzz but maybe an Electakid.

Speaking of. I finally hatched one today!!

I have all 5ks now 😒 so just live in wait of my next 10k. All I need is a Hitmonchan and a Magby or some bloody Dratini candies!!

Only walked 582k, have been really lazy about it since winter hit properly.

Wish they would release the rest of Gen 2 already!

I reached 100 in my pokedex today!

Have switched my buddy out to magikarp which i must admit i find a bit creepy but want my gyrados.

Still no babies and the only hatch today was Eevee which i have all the evolutions of.

I haven't posted in ages here. I'm still playing: need to hatch/catch a Chansey and hatch a Togepi or 2. I need another 25 candy for a good Machamp, 10 more for a good Golem and 65 more for a dragonite, if I don't catch one first.

That's all to get everything currently available so doing very targeted London hunting, buddied with a dragonair and otherwise just keeping gyms ticking over for incubator coins and trying to get the daily/weekly bonuses and hoarding gen2 candy.

I'm L30 so the pressure to level up is off too and I'm happy to do that slowly.

I've had a lazy day. The spawns are uninspiring and tricky to get, and my eggs keep hatching the same range of pokemon I have no particular need from from 5k eggs (probably because all the local pokestops are in a cluster of a circular walk). DS had a parents morning at school so I had less time than normal. I did go to a few pokestops, and caught an amazing view of the cloud sitting in the valley below, with the church spire just poking up through it. I can't remember seeing a temperature inversion before (geography teacher, my kind of geekery!)

I had a good long run and played my zombies app instead. It was too quaggy in the fields to want my phone in my hand (plus data/ battery life)

Hatched a fucking Rhydon did manage to limp towards level 24, so that's something.

I was unable to log in to the app today, all I got was "unable to authenticate; try again" all day. That was a pisser as today could've seen me get to Level 26. I'm just under 20k XP shy and today was day 7 for both streaks, so that's 5150XP I've been denied.

Never mind, I'm sure I'll level up over the weekend.

I managed to get the other three regionals yesterday from a Facebook page where vetted catchers take over your account and catch them for you. I was a bit about it at first but the two people I dealt with were fantastic and super quick.

I had a double lucky egg session which gave me approximately 180k xp- only 150k to go until level 30 now. I also added a dutrio, an omaster, a charizard and golem to my pokedex- at 138 caught now. I created an army of the walking dead cannon fodder to use up on tomorrow's gym battles.

I am pretty sure that I have discovered a cheater- he has several level 30-35 accounts and uses the same username on them all, only with random letters capitalized. I took down a level 8 gym today and he had 3 monster pokemon in it, 2 of them were 3000cp dragonites. I then put my own snorlax in it, and whilst I was powering it up, I got kicked out and the same username was back in it only with a monster garyados. I was the only person in a 50m radius of that gym.

Also, I am so bloody bored of playing! It's all same old same old. Before my lucky egg session I had 2k pidgey candy- now I have none. That's how many fuckers I have been catching lately just to get the points.

I used to see that kind of view regularly when I was in Canterbury and would be walking up the hill to the University for work at 6 in the morning and many mornings there would be clouds lying over the city with the Cathedral poking up out while it was clear up on on the hill. Absolutely beautiful.

I've just spent all my extra candy and stardust powering up my Venosaur, Charizard and Blastoise as they all have good movesets and IVs. My Venosaur is over 2k and my Charizard and Blastoise both sitting just under. Can't wait to use them more in battle.

We don't seem to be getting Xp for Pokémon that run away any more.

I'm sure I was yesterday, jennielou75, I haven't noticed today but I wasn't out for long.

I seem to have hit the point so many of you have mentioned, and which I thought I wouldn't because I can hit a load of pokestops a day. Yup, I've done so much gym fighting I've run out of revives and I'm really, really low on potions. Well, I do have ten revives after hitting all of those nearby pokestops, but I did go down to five. Guess no more coins for me for a week or so until I stock up, unless I miraculously stay in any of the ones I'm in at the moment.

Oh, forgot to say I hatched my latest 10k egg today, an Onix. Not something I still needed, but the candy will be handy when gen 2 is released.

I've changed my incubator strategy, I'm only using the infinity and the occasional single use for a 10k. I had a phase of having 9 on the go. I'm level 30 and just need Magby (plus regionals). I'm still enjoying the game but Gen 2 proper is a much needed release to up my interest again.

Ok just checked it and I'm definitely not getting xp for escaping Pokémon

My two eggs today hatched as Psyduck and Eevee. How fucking disappointing.

I got 25 xp for escaping pokemon before it became announced when they escaped.

I've had more xp than expected for quite a few pokemon, today.

Actually ended up taking the bus down to Barnard Castle, today, for a Pokewander. DS1 is reduced to using DH's spare phone, which is only an improvement on his/my old phone in terms of having a non knackered battery, but it only cost £29 and only has 1GB RAM, so PoGo freezes on buses and in built up areas. I encounraged him to escape Darlo, which was his choice of outing, today, to a smaller town. Caught nothing exciting, there, but plenty of Pokestops and lots to catch, so great for the Grind. The castle and park around it, while it's never appeared on Silph Road, appears to be a Paras nest, at the moment. I feel a Reddit signup coming on. I've seen a few nests finally flagged up on there after mentioning them elsewhere.

Well I have had an expectedly disappointing week of Pokemoning on my US trip. My phone went to T-Mobile and I have only ever had 3G and my GPS flakes out constantly. The phone is only a week old so I don't think it is hardware. So anything I have caught I have seen while on wifi, and I have missed out on hundreds of stops, and yesterday I walked 25,000 steps but my egg has registered 0.3k.

I did however catch 6 Tauros!

Still no Snorlax, Lapras, Lickitung, Dragonite, Onix, and who knows what else.

Did you turn data on? I went to krakow and was really annoyed that I was dependent on the hotel wifi. I then found out on the last day that I hadn't turned data on.....!

Jennylou, yes, work pays for my data bundle so I tried every combination of data on/off, wifi on/off, mobile at 3G/4G - tried everything I could think of that my phone would do! It wasn't just NY which is very built up - NJ too.

How frustrating!
