Hello you lovely lot. Nowt new today, but at least I caught a couple of Squirtles and have enough candy to get Wartortle, so that's 4 to add to my Pokedex when I do a Lucky Egg mass evolve.

It transforms at the "Gotcha!" screen when you catch a pokemon. It says "Oh" and then the pokemon changes to Ditto.

Mine was from a Magicarp that appeared with , I think, a Pidgey and something else. IT seems that there is no pattern although, from this thread, they seem to have come from Pidgey's Zubats Ratatas and Magicarp. Which seems a fairly random group of pokemon so probably means nothing!

So many ratattas! At least I can get the XP from evolving them I guess!

Just done a lucky egg mass evolve: have moved up to Level 27 with 133 in my Pokédex (19 bingo lines). I evolved my higher CP Wartortle to a Blastoise on basis easier to evolve a new Wartortle at some point. My other new monster's a Ditto. Two, in fact! One from a Rattata somewhere near Leicester Square; & one from a Magikarp at a station on my journey home

I spent a couple of hours in town yesterday afternoon - was a trip to Whole Foods to get Special Zebra Food, combined with some walking to try to deal with the muscle wastage from the last few weeks. And offset the risk to my bonemass from immobility + All The Steroids. PokémonGO really does make this stuff SO much more bearable. I didn't have much joy beyond the Dittos; accumulating Local Wildlife; & collecting things from Pokéstops. There was ONE bulbasaur in Lincoln's Inn Fields & it ran away. Not a sniff of a dratini along a massive stretch of the Thames. I did get a few random Abra though

Am going to go for another walk today - not sure where yet, but probably closer to home... 🤔

My Vaporeon is still in a gym at Centre Parcs! It's so nice to be able to collect coins without doing much.
When he comes back, will I get any extra XP?

I've been told that Ditto can come from any Pokemon that would come out of a 2k egg - so pidgey, rattata, zubat, spearow, magikarp, weedle, caterpie etc. Mine was from a pidgey and my DS's was from a zubat.

Just did a lucky egg mass evolve and got about 130k xp! Plus 10k for pokestop seven day streak. I only hit level 26 yesterday but I'm already a good way through it, only 50k to go!

Still no Ditto though

WeedlesHat - I don't think so. They just reappear all unconscious. Nothing tells you, and I don't think you get any XP. But you should!

Ooh so I never normally see anyone when Pokemoning, because I live in the middle of nowhere. But there are a couple of gyms near work and they are very rarely held by yellow (my team). There's a woman's name and avatar I keep seeing when they occasionally (briefly) do turn yellow. Today, I was battling down a gym, and a chap started battling with me and asked what team I was on. Both yellow.

We took the gym down and popped some 'mon in there. Then I realised the hairy handed bloke is actually the 'woman' I have been seeing taking the gyms.

Bit creepy, non?

Just a timely reminder not to take any risks when I'm Pokémoning I guess!

I got a Ditto from a Rattata yesterday. DH got the same one, we were shopping and he got one so he was shouting at me to stop messing around with the Evee I was catching and catch the Rattata instead.

Also caught two Pikachus over the weekend - one outside the pub which we go to all the time and one at the local garden centre. Totally random as I've never had one come up on the nearby list before. I did have one already which we got at the Tower of London but now I can almost evolve the good one.

So someone please explain dittos in gyms to me. I know they change to what they're fighting.

So can my 60cp ditto take a 2000 snorlax?

Caught a Ditto - on the bus home this afternoon so couldn't double back for DH and the kids. It was masquerading as a Pidgey and, after all those Great Balls I've wasted on vermin this week, I got this on the first regular pokeball - so I was well surprised when I got the 'Oh?'

Also managed coins in a gym for three of us. Got off the bus and the local gym was DS's team with a space, so I popped him in and grabbed his coins. Then I took the gym down and put me and DD in and grabbed us our coins.

I have finally caught a ditto. 235cp rat. I'm so happy!

I haven't posted on this thread before but I've just got two dittos in one hour and was very excited about this, and nobody in RL seems to understand!!! I'm now starting to wonder if they're really as rare as I thought...

nameless so the bloke battling actually has a female avatar? Or was it really a butch woman?! Did he seem okay to you or did you make a hasty exit?
I have thought a couple of time that I have taken risks playing pokemon go that I wouldn't normally, like going to places at nighttime to catch something or battle in a gym. Although there is one nearby gym that I only go to in daylight.

nameless my avatar is a man, idk why, just preferred it to the ultra-girl on there, I don't think there is an unwritten rule to be the same sex as your avatar. Or he could be on his daughters account or something?

I just found two dittos in Cambridge! Miles away from home, after hours of searching locally to no avail!

Has anyone used a ditto in a gym? Do they really take on the shape and VP of their opponent? How exciting! I will persuade DS to come for a Pokémon drive this evening to find out!

Mouldy and tumpy - he has a female avatar but more than that, his name is something ostentatiously female - think "IsobelJones" . He was perfectly friendly and not in the slightest bit threatening. It's just that if I were playing in a fairly rural place in the dark and expecting to see a woman, I'd be very mistaken! Just interesting as one of my rare encounters with other players.

I don't think it is particularly odd to have an avatar that is a different sex, though.

I caught my first Pikachu today though!

marce ditto takes on the form of the first pokemon it fights. It keeps this form for the remainder of the battle, even if it fights a different one. When mine was fighting, it's cp increased, but not as much as the pokemon I was fighting, so he didn't last long!

Just got to level 21 with an incense and a lucky egg, yay! Still searching for a ditto!

No Ditto here still. But! Look who I caught instead! I saw a shadow from the train, and I actually went home out of my way in search of it, and just as I thought that I wouldn't get it, there it was with its ???cp right next to a pokestop.

I am also only 25k xp away from level 27. I will probably get there before my lucky egg session that I have planned for wednesday.
