I'm a couple of thousand XP from level 20. Once there I might just grind up all the rubbish for candies and evolve the best ones.

The bonuses aren't helping me at all!

Yes please can somebody explain the bonuses I really don't get it.

The XP needed to level up is ridiculous!!!! It needs changing Niantic!

Just spent half an hour of my lunch break training in a level 9 gym thinking I would get a space only to find out no space comes up even when you bring it up to 50k. I now have so many dead and damaged Pokemon o don't know where to start. And not one potion to my name.

I'm feeling slightly better that it's not just me who doesn't know how this bonus system works.

Nutella. Lol, I've just done a similar thing. It was a 9 level gym and it took me ages to power it up but I thought it would be worth it.....

Then there was no space aghhhhhhh!!!!!! I was sooo mad

However it gets worse.... I then realise I'm already in the gym 😂😂😂😂 I'd been fighting my own ruddy Pokemon. 😭

I'm in 7 gyms though and have half an hour to wait before I cash out.

at poke fighting your own Pokemon!!! I'm still so annoyed.
I have counted and I have 17 dead and 27 damaged. And no potions. 3 Pokemon in a gym which I can cash in tomorrow and no prospect of getting into any mode gyms unless a miracle happens and I get loads of potions. I am so annoyed at myself.

My pissed off'ness has subsided as a walk in the countryside past a national trust property gave me two more gyms so I managed to cash out 9 gyms. I was with my non Pokemon playing pals so I don't actual play while I walk but there were two red gyms with space in each so I popped a Pokemon in each and cashed out.

Well poke it turns out I'm also more stupid than initially predicted. There was a space in the gym after all. I didn't put my guy in there. So I basically levelled it up for someone else to walk past and put theirs in there. It's now a level 10 gym which will probably stay for a while and I'm not cashing in on it. I am so angry at myself. Stupid game.

Just got my 3rd ever 10km egg. At a random pokestop in the middle of a nearby village. Really hoping it's not an eevee. It's such a disappointment to walk all that way for something you collect regularly everyday.

Nutella 😆 That's so frustrating. Hopefully someone will come along quickly and knock the gym down so you won't have to look at it. Isn't it meant to be easier to overthrow gyms with the recent update? I'm trying to be positive here 🤔

I'm now down to 15 dead and 9 hurt so an improvement. 99% of what I've collected on pokestops were balls on the one day I didn't need them.

Hatched two 5k eggs. One cat thingy and one sandsdrew. Both cute but I've had loads and evolved a couple so not very exciting. God I'm grumpy.

I HATCHED A PIKACHU TODAY!!!! Hallefuckinluhah, about time. After 29km with Clefairy (only ever seen one and caught the bugger) Pikachu is now my buddy. He is CP481 and came with 5 candies. I am happier than a dog with two cocks. :o

I also caught a Porygon. So that's two more to add to the Pokedex.

My 5k just hatched a psyduck.

My bus station just gave me a 2k egg not a 10k.
Maybe it was the stop before.

I just did a lucky egg evolve session and got 81,000 XP 👍🏻 and three new Pokemon. I'm now up to 134 caught.

I think it was 78. With three new evolves. I didn't make any mistakes so I can't see how I could have done anymore. I set a timer so I stopped exactly when the 30 min lucky egg stopped.

I managed 76 but that's because I may have dozed off for a few seconds here and there. 81k is fab. And 134!!! Only 8 more to go. Well done you :)

I've levelled up just getting ready to use the bloody egg! With any luck I'll level up again with the egg.

I'd really like a pikachu hatch now. Got one as my buddy but don't want to evolve him without a replacement!

Oops, I've accidentally sock puppeted. I keep my PokemonGo NN for this thread but I'm currently StormStrike elsewhere on Mumsnet. It's nothing sinister - I'm just a bit neurotic about online privacy and I change my NN every few days.

Anyway I'm nearly halfway through level 30.

78 evolves? Better give it a few more days then! Glad to be back after a phoneless 4 days.

Posters on Silph Road are claiming to have evolved quite a few more than 78 but I don't see how I could have done too many more. I guess the 3 new evolutions take up a bit of time but not too much.
