Calling all Hay Day addicts (2)

We filled 1000 Posts!

I've finally caved in and hired Tom to fetch me some axes and saws so I've got a nice clean farm now. I drew the line at setting my alarm for every 2 hours through the night though so I'm not completely mad addicted. Grin

Secret - that will only work for so long though. Eventually you'll run out of room!!!

We all had fun with our name changes in our NH! Back to normal tomorrow, then will have to think of Christmas ones!

HayDayQueen · 31/10/2014 23:42

To TRY to keep on top of the dead bushes, you need to get as many axes as possible. To do that, you need to get as many 'goodies', ie presents from harvesting and collecting animal products.

They have altered it so that it releases more axes, but its still hard, so you NEED to get as many animals as you can. So save your vouchers for animals, don't use them to get coloured lures until you have all your pets.

FEED all your animals as frequently as you can. My 8 horses will give 2 or 3 goodies every time I feed them/wake them up. Keep on top of your other animals too. That can be tricky with the feed, so make sure you expand your feed lots as much as possible, and stock up on sheep and goat overnight.

And WHEAT - wheating is when you fill all of your planting area with wheat, harvest, sell all the wheat off cheaply (1 coin gets rid of it faster, without a large silo you will quickly get overrun by wheat otherwise). You will normally get 1 or two gifts for a complete harvest. The number of planting plots you need to harvest to get a gift changes depending on your level, but usually you will get at least one for all of it.

Wheating is the FASTEST way of getting gifts. Its also a great way of getting expansion items and mining items. Its a bit boring, but give it a try!!!

secretsquirrels · 01/11/2014 09:35

Sigh, I know you are right HDQ.
One thing that puzzles me. Some farms are so crammed with trees and bushes (live ones) that I wonder what they do with all the fruit etc they produce. There is only so much juice / jam you can make in a day. I used to sell surpluses but unless you need the cash it just seems like a way or perpetuating the dead bush problem.

You know I think I enjoyed the game more at a lower level or maybe I've just played too much. I would love to find another game like this.

ZingOfSeven · 01/11/2014 15:26

secret

I have tons of plants waiting for harvest. its a hoarding mentality I think, I want them plenty and available at all times in case I want to sell them to raise cash or fill boats or help out others etc.

I don't have a plant cemetery. I only buy new plants now when I have chopped off dead ones. I seem to have reached a good pace with them.

Hey SecretSquirrels

I play on another MN Quiche too, i think we are full right now so no space at the moment. I just thought I'd poop my head round the door and say hello to the thread as I havent found it before.

As SecretSquirrel knows I have a lot of fruit bushes and trees but I am like Zing and don't over harvest and replace as I kill them off. i am in the middle of losing all my coffee bushes now so Tom has had to a few axe runs for me recently.

Jelli

secretsquirrels · 02/11/2014 09:53

Jelli, maybe we should mention this thread on chat as it might be an easy way to pass on messages?
(Jelli and I (GrassyBottom) are not often on at the same time.)

secretsquirrels · 02/11/2014 09:53

I meant HayDay chat not MN chat.

Waves to Dixie (but can't remember your HD name?)
I agree about none participating members. I posted above about this. They seem to fall into 3 categories
Those who play but who I have never seen on chat or filling boats.
Those who used to play and chat and suddenly stopped Clux and Happy where are you?
Those who I have never seen play.

There was one member I recall who asked to be deleted ages ago but our former leader never went on chat so missed it.

Hi Kara! I don't know, they were both lovely and just stopped playing, presumably something in RL took over.
I do think I spend too much time on there although I play much less than I did over the summer. I share iPad with DS2 (16) and he tends to have it after 7pm in the evening.
It's very good for de-stressing though.

figgypuddings · 02/11/2014 11:37

I asked to be deleted (PeppermintPuffin) as my dcs set up a fight chat thread. Muggins is at a higher level so they get lots of things from me.

I rarely do a boat order as it can be a faff especially when the town people are becoming greedier and want eg 65 sweetcorns or 17 breads and a tomato juice. Hmm
Any tips for managing the townspeople? I always miss the train and become irritated whilst they wave, dance or sing. I want them to leave their presents and run for the train. I end up with multiple wizardy men as they won't rush for anything. The actress one gets sent away immediately as I can't stand her.

Jellibelli · 02/11/2014 12:27

Should I take notice of catching the train? Oh! I just send them to the stores, give them the stuff, or go make it, and then take their presents for being such a great host. I just let them and the train come and go as they please. Am I missing something?

Figgy you are not showing in our neighbourhood, so I guess you've been deleted (hope it wasnt painful) or you were in a different one.

I go through phases of doing different demands, I needed to save up recently, so I just got tom to get the jewellery and sold it on. Now I am after expansion stuff and experience so I am focussing on the town. In the near future i will go for the 15000 boat order points and will be a crate tart! So sometimes i am more visible to the group than others.

I tend to pop in instead of getting ready for work before i go to work, during my lunch break if possible, and then when I can in the evening. I am a bit short of time as I am supposed to be studying in the evenings and days off like now so i don't always have time to go in to the chat and hang out, sadly.

But yes, Squirrel, this might be a useful place to exchange messages where they don't disappear...

figgypuddings · 02/11/2014 19:08

Ooh! I'm just home and went to collect fields of tomatoes - I planted ten so ought to have collected 20 and only three show up in my store! Really odd as I never used any or gave them to the greedies in the diner.Shock

Could tomatoGate be a glitch?

ZingOfSeven · 03/11/2014 00:32

Jelli

Grin @ pooped my head

funniest typo in ages. Wink

ZingOfSeven · 03/11/2014 09:03

bloody maintenance break. will the Halloween things go? do we get diamonds?
or maybe new update and new goodies coming?

come on HD, hurry up, I need to feed townies!

Brightermornings · 03/11/2014 09:07

I think the Halloween theme will disappear.

MonstersBalls · 03/11/2014 09:47

Server offline! They do seem to have a lot of maintenance breaks. At least we'll get lovely, shiny diamonds.

So, best way to make cash? I'm thinking jewellery? Get Tom to buy it, or truck orders or make and sell in shop? I need to expand my lobsters!

monsters

read my post earlier on this thread on 16th Oct at 12.57pm

herbaceous · 05/11/2014 11:39

OK, I give in. I've been playing for aaaages (level 37) but haven't found a neighbourhood to my liking. Could I join MN Quiche? It seems to have space...

I am herbaceous, in Game Centre, and my farm's called Quimby.

secretsquirrels · 05/11/2014 12:10

Our quiche is full herbaceous unless we delete a none player (What do you think Jelli?)

herbaceous · 05/11/2014 12:14

Oh, sorry - don't want to chuck anyone off! It's just that on my neighbourhoods bar it says MN Quiche has 24 out of a possible 30 members.

ZingOfSeven · 05/11/2014 12:20

yes it says on mine to herb

24/30 for MN Quiche but it's invites only
(oh the snobberyWink Grin )

I hope you get invited, the other 2 are full.

if they don't invite you do say. I'm sure moar can be tweaked further.

ZingOfSeven · 05/11/2014 12:20

*mine too

herbaceous · 05/11/2014 13:15

How exciting. Though of course it would mean that even more of my life is given over to hunting for jam than would seem necessary.
