Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in Jersey - not too expensive, quiet, family friendly. Or alternatively self catering - hit me with your recommendations please!

Is there any transport laid on from the Pomme to the Merton, @FettleOfKish? Otherwise that’s quite a trek without a car.

@Whenwillglorioussummercome I don't believe so, but the number 2 and number 16 buses both pass the Merton, otherwise it's a circa 15 minute walk (a bit longer with young kids).

Radisson blu. Stayed in a few, that was the best. Better location too

I know - very familiar with both hotels! But I think it's not ideal to be travelling between the two if it can be avoided, especially with kids and swimming things. I'd probably just head to Aquasplash from the Pomme to be honest, although obviously it costs. Easy enough in a car of course.

@Whenwillglorioussummercome I know it's not the ideal but if the Merton is full (or preventatively expensive) for family rooms at this fairly late stage, the Pomme might just present an alternative that allows for a) easy travel around the island without an expensive hire car and b) Free access to the best indoor and outdoor pool in the island. Back in yonder times when I worked there Kids stayed free at the Pomme but not the Merton, so a few savvy families did that for a cheaper break with the same facilities. Not sure if the same still applies.

Is the family part of Aquasplash even still open? I thought the outdoor section had closed?

Thank you so much everyone! You've been so helpful!

Has anyone stayed at the apartments at Beausite?

I thought it was closed for work but due to reopen? But I'm not sure.

Yeah, sure, definitely worth thinking about, given how limited the options in Jersey are at this notice and with hotels closing left, right and centre. I just know I wouldn't be able to face moving my kids over to the Merton the whole time given that it's a not-very-exciting uphill walk. But I massively prefer the beach anyway!

We lived on Jersey for 9 years until 1999, and went back to visit in 2021 after our main holiday was cancelled due to COVID restrictions.

We stayed in The Grand in St Helier, couldn't get into the L'Horizon as we only booked 4 weeks in advance.

Jersey is a fantastic place for a family, I'm sure you'll find lots to do.

I know people who have and liked it.

It's in a lovely location, a couple of minutes from one of the island's nicest beaches, and easy walking distance to Gorey for food/exploring the castle. You're right by a Co-Op too, so easy to grab food. You're also on one of the best bus routes to get in town.

Great, thank you! It sounds good
