Best Cornish Harbours with walls for jumping off into the sea from

I'm obsessing about starting to plan our summer holiday. The highlight of any Cornish break for my DC is jumping off a harbour wall into the sea. We've been to

  • Charlestown
  • Mousehole
  • St Ives
  • Polruan

and through obsessive google maps usage I've always managed to pick a holiday location with harbour walls that are suitable!

I was wondering if anyone else has DC with similar views, and if they'd recommend any other locations?

Ha! Yes that's one of the places that we live/jump.

And I return to this thread a few months later after the awful news today. Not sure if it's true but the DM are reporting a riptide.

Wonder if the OP still finds it all hilarious.

The police have said they were not jumping from the pier.

I 😍 Charlestown. The galleon is fantastic!

If you're worried about rips you'd better never go in the sea ever again...

I’m not too sure what’s been in the news, but it sounds unconnected to the original question I posed in this thread.

my eldest son was jumping into the sea just this week, after carrying out his own thorough risk assessment. I still think that’s a good thing and he certainly enjoyed it

As has been said many times, local people/people who grow up in, on and near the sea know how to spot rips, know how to tell tide times etc.

Accidents do happen, same as when you're merrily hurtling down a motorway, but as far as where I am based in concerned, the vast majority of people who get into trouble are tourists who don't know what they're doing.
