Unusual Days Out

Can you help compile a list of unique UK days out beyond the obvious? I love when we discover a completely different type of day trip but usually it's better known by locals. The sort of things that I class as being quite
unique days out:

Crocky Trail
Forbidden Corner
Wookey Hole
Great Orme Railway

So not the average theme park/national trust/zoo type days

A boat trip to see puffins at the Farne Islands (the islands themselves are closed at the minute but you can still go on boat trips around them).

Zip World Fforest Coaster near Betws-y-Coed.

The Alnwick Garden and Alnwick Castle

Lowther Castle

Brimham Rocks

The play area at Lowther is amazing!!…. They do a really cool, spooky Halloween event there too!

The Cold War Bunker is York is really interesting. Better than traipsing round the bloody Minster Grin

Manley Mere is a muddier version of Crocky Trail and also has a lake for canoeing.

Mirehouse in Cumbria has different woodland playgrounds.

Hawkstone Park Follies in Staffordshire.

Trentham Monkey Forest. Next to the Trentham Estate that has a barefoot walk, and also an Aerial Extreme.

Some great ideas here that I'm going to Google.

I could probably contribute myself but only thing I can think of is Salts Mill in Saltaire. Parking and entry is free. You can currently see David Hockney's 90 metre Year in Normandy work.

Has some art galleries, cafes and book shops, plus there's information about when it was a working mill. Plus it's next to a nice park and the canal.

Walk across the causeway to Holy Island in Northumberland. Watch the tides though!
