There is a 4 part Amityville one starting on BBC2 tonight. Covering the 'hoax' haunting and previous murders apparently

Lwrenn · 15/03/2024 08:09

The Suzy Lamplugh one is excellent, suzy's mum was a powerhouse.
Who killed Billie Jo, also very upsetting but interesting.

Kendal rae/molly westbrook/Eleanor neale on YouTube.

As @1ittlegreen says, Don't Fuck With Cats is incredible. And different.
My friend said I'd like it, and I was nahh. Lordy me, was glued to it.
(Did have to look away at the actual animal cruelty but though)

Might have been mentioned already, so apologies if they have:
-ITV's Real Crime
-BBC Two's Forensics: The Real CSI

This is poignant tonight given the discovery of the little boy in France 😥

American Nightmare @ Netflix

AmaryllisChorus · 01/04/2024 23:55

The Staircase is brilliant. It's impossible not to get involved and play sleuth and the twist at the end with the documentary maker....

Another, less well known, absolutely beautiful one is The Pharmacist. True story of a man whose son is murdered. he sets out to find out more and uncovers one of the biggest crime scandals in USA, He's like Alan Bates against the Post Office. An ordinary small town man who is also a monumental hero.

What Jennifer Did. New on Netflix.

In light of today’s news I’m giving another plug for Real Crime Profile and the deep dive they did on the murders of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman and the subsequent trial.

Listen to it all (I think they did 12 45 min episodes on the case) - there will be no doubt in your mind that OJ was guilty.

dayswithaY · 12/04/2024 07:00

I’ll give it a listen, I like Laura and Jim.

You’re Wrong About also did a deep dive on OJ Simpson - but it was more about the other people around him - his legal team, his friend Kato who gave evidence against him, his girlfriend Paula Barbieri - so not as thorough as Real Crime Profile, but very interesting.

I wonder if anyone actually thinks he didn’t kill Nicole and Ron.

CaveMum · 12/04/2024 10:09

@dayswithaY iI know that it’s a case of people thinking he didn’t do it, more that there are probably a lot of people like me who were teenagers/children at the time of the trial and didn’t actually pay much attention to it so took it at face value. I was about 14 when the trial happened and vaguely remember it being on the news but it was only when I listened to the RCP podcast that I got into the detail of the case and realised how badly it had all been handled and what an absolute monster OJ was.

CaveMum · 12/04/2024 10:10

Sorry, that should say “I don’t think it’s a case…” at the start of that post.

Thank you. Although there was never any doubt in my mind. Ever.
