It’s so strange isn’t it? What is happening is as clear as day to us all but so many people are inventing narratives (“we can’t stop them, “they are all fleeing war/persecution” etc etc) to try to convince others, and especially themselves that it isn’t.

I think the racism is excusing behaviour because the people doing it are brown people. Putting your baby’s life at risk to improve your living situation when you and the baby are currently in no danger is selfish and unacceptable behaviour, whatever your race.

Why do you have to add fighting age, they may be mainly young men, but virtually all men and women these days are fighting age if you mean they could fight for their country if called upon anyone 16-60 any way.

Unless they’ve been forced onto the boats (not impossible, I suppose) it’s not about “wise” choices: parents who choose to put their children in mortal danger are terrible parents. And IMO what’s racist would be to give dark-skinned parents a pass on that fundamental rule of parenthood.

I will say though that the mother may not have any choice in that decision. Or is it racist to think that women in many of the countries from which migrants are coming are often oppressed, whether officially and legally, or just in terms of how women are expected to be subservient to their husbands’ decisions in those societies?

It is highly organised and very strategic, hence the odd woman and vulnerable child on each boat to ensure rescue. The men on board couldn’t care less about them. They are the foot soldiers of a much bigger geopolitical picture.

It was also published in The Times which I think would have rigourous AI checking. I think the female hand at the bottom of the picture has just thrown the bottle into the boat, having taken it out of the baby's mouth where you can see a milk dribble.

I take fighting age to mean 16 to 45 ish. I think it is highly relevant that very large groups of men of this age group are arriving in our country. As I’m sure you are aware, women, be they mothers, girlfriends, sisters, wives, daughters tend to have a civilising affect on young men. This is human nature and true across the board. These men have no accompanying women, and are unlikely to quickly make connections with women especially if housed in large numbers in small towns/villages. So we have large groups of unaccompanied men, aged 16 to 45, of unknown backgrounds, from cultures with values and attitudes to women for example very different to our own arriving daily. I think that is relevant.

It does if you don’t have a claim to asylum. There are guidelines that look quite clear to me that need to be met to claim asylum. You don’t get anything if you don’t meet them.

Your post is riddled with mistruths and misinformation. Do a quick search for umber of asylum seekers per head of population and see if you still think the UK is the "Gold standard" whatever that means. Also look up a comparator of "benefits" available while claims are processed. Wherever you are getting your information, you need to be more critical in your reading of it, and ask whose interest it is serving.

Claiming asylum is not illegal. There are virtually no "safe and legal" routes.
