The three sisters who died in the sea in Brighton

This is sooo dodgy. There’s no recent photos of them, no one knows why they were there.
They were fully clothed. Handbags on the beach.
Their mum was found dead in a lake 16 yrs ago in Birmingham.
Police have reviewed 100’s of hours og cctv footage and nothing.
What the actual fuck?!

Is it that unusual? I remember staying in coastal towns and walking along the beach after a night out before heading back to the hotel. Even sometimes with my 2 sisters. And I'm sure certain family members would have claimed we were much better behaved than we actually were.

Yes if I went missing I’m sure my mum would describe me as a sensible person who doesn’t party much.

i have never told her about half of the crazy stuff that I got up to. Drinking, wild all night parties

So in that case why would they even be there late at night?

Well yes but apparently this is all normal.

Unless they were at a club. And did have a few drinks. Otherwise I don’t see the appeal of a middle of the night walk in the freezing cold by a rough sea.

No one really knows if people drink or not. People sometimes say they don’t drink, as they would get in trouble with they do.

I used to know a Muslim man though work. He told me that he told his family and close family friends that he never drank alcohol. He told me that he actually did drink alcohol

Yes, very true. My parents had no clue what I got up to in my 20s.

But that just shows that they didnt actually know them as well as they thought they did. The toxicology results will indicate more when they come back

There's a podcast on that case - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/brand/p0gpv57h

That was entirely different. The man was MI6 and details around his death should never have been made public.

Nobody knows if they’d been drinking or not. They were also found in normal clothes, not going out clothes, and on a ‘school night’.

😂 I don’t take photos of myself constantly or because I think I look good but because I want a record and memories of the times I have with friends and family. I think that’s normal.

I have far more pictures of friends and family on my phone than me and zero selfies. But I am in some of the photos.
What about photos of yourself with your kids?!

I don’t have kids but I do have a working memory.
I think this must be a generational thing. When I go to parties and social events none of my friends take pictures of each other all the time.

FolioQuarto · 28/05/2026 13:06

I am not interested in conspiracy theories and am happy to leave it to the coroner.

However, if my sibling and I were to die, the family would struggle to find photos. I don't think anyone has taken a photo of me for at least 5 years. To find one of my sibling and me together they would be going back over 40 years. Some families are just not into taking photos.

These are young women who you’d expect to have some kind of recent photos of, either taken themselves or by family.

People are saying they don’t like photos taken of them but who doesn’t take any photos on holidays, birthdays, weddings, graduation, Christmas at all?

Or something on WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram.

But does no one have a picture of you at all since you were about eleven? No school or graduation photo, no snap of you at a wedding, no passport or driving licence? How do you vote?

HelenaWilson · 28/05/2026 13:42

No social media presence for any of the 3.

Almost everyone would say I have no social media presence. I never use my real name. I never post photos of myself. I use different names on different sites and namechange quite often on MN.

There are very few people who could connect my RL identity to an online persona, and they don't know everywhere I go online.

How do I vote? What a stupid question. Of course I have a passport and driving licence. That’s a very far cry from taking pictures of yourself at every available moment.

HelenaWilson · 28/05/2026 13:50

How do you vote?

I have a bus pass which I use as ID to vote. It lives in my handbag. It is not available to anyone who might want to splash it all over social media in the event of something dramatic happening to me.

Scarlettjune · 28/05/2026 13:51

I was just thinking I don’t have any recent photos of myself either, except on my own phone or on my private Instagram.

No one can get into those without my password

WonderfulSmith · 28/05/2026 13:57

I’ve just looked at the most recent picture I have of DH is three years ago when we were at a friend’s house. I have a picture of us both together on a holiday three years ago too. I’ve got a picture of me from 6 months ago with my friend’s dog.

The only picture I have of me and my two closest friends is from a wedding nearly 10 years ago.

Strangely I am somehow still able to vote…..

It’s not a generational thing. My parents took photos of us all the time - and their parents of them. I really don’t think it’s unusual.

I can enjoy a holiday and be fully present and take the odd photo to remember it by.

I am not talking of posing selfies.

I am 50. I would be devastated if I lost all the photos of my kids when they were younger. i don’t think it’s unusual to take photos of your family.

Delatron · 28/05/2026 14:10

Some parties I don’t take photos as I forget. But I wouldn’t go for months without photos of family

Apparently taking photos on holiday, at weddings, at family events, graduations is very strange and not something people do at all.

Imagine never taking a photo of your children? I mean why do photographers go in to school and take the school pictures? Nobody ever takes a picture of their child on their first day of school - nope never. Because taking photos is weird and self indulgent according to Mumsnet.

I’m not saying it’s weird or strange at all. People take photos of themselves and their friends and families all the time. I’m countering all the people saying it’s odd that these women didn’t have any photos of themselves by saying it’s not that usual, but according to MN this renders me unable to vote….

We were in Brighton last week. Red banners on the beach stating DANGER but still some bloke was trying to surf

I’m not speculating, but most African women I know would rather do anything but get their hair wet. Depends on how they wore it, but I highly contest the ‘spontaneously going in the water’ story. I also think it’s plausible they didn’t drink. You have to put the whole thing in the context of someone’s culture and interests. If there was MH involved, the family would not disclose that to the press, if they even knew.

Going for a quick paddle at the seaside doesn't involve getting your hair wet.

They were wearing their shoes so no plans for a paddle or a swim.

Why does anyone think they were paddling at that time of night.

it’s much more likely that they fell off something

I think it’s really unlikely that all three fell.

Delatron · 28/05/2026 14:44

I think now we know they were all found with their shoes still on we can discount the paddling theory.

No obviously all three wouldn’t fall at the same time.

one of them probably fell, got swept away, and the other two died trying to save her.
