Hey all, I have always been on a chubby side touching a BMI of 25.. however last year I joined a fast paced work culture job in NZ where they give no flexibility in hours or WFH... in one year I have gained 5 kg
(I'm petite just 5 ft tall)..

Im feeling very depressed... need support.

Wrong forum - if you read the description up top, you'll see that this is for people who like lifting up the heavy weights, not losing weight!

You'll get better weight loss answers in the correct MN forum.

OTOH, get into lifting weights, (aiming for heavy weights) - it's a great way to build muscle, rather than gain fat.

From what you have said, you have been moving less than before (due to your job) and maybe eating more or differently than before? It’s easily done. However, 5kg is not the end of the world, although I appreciate it’s affecting how you’re feeling about yourself. The good news is you can do something about it and make changes. Look to see how you can move more during the day. Can you get some walks in? Is a walking treadmill an option whilst you work? Getting to the gym and lifting weights will build muscle and is great in the longer term. Can you change your diet at all? It’s not a disaster, so try not to make yourself miserable over it. Taking some action will make you feel a lot better, even just a couple of small things can make a big difference.
