Knee Sleeves For Larger Legs!

Hi, can anyone recommend some knee sleeves that work for those with slightly larger legs?

I have tried Gymshark 7mm sleeves. I used the measurements guide and bought an XL, I couldn’t even get them over my calves! I swapped for an XXL, I can get these on but they really dig in and I have a very obviously and painful bulge on my thighs with them.

Whilst I would consider I am slightly larger than some in the thigh area I wear size 16 trousers, so am a bit shocked that unisex XXL knee sleeves don’t fit comfortably. I understand they are supposed to be snug but these are a little too snug for comfort!

Any recommendations would be wonderful!

Thanks

You could try wraps instead of sleeves?

Thank you @GreenFrogPinkFrog hadn’t thought of wraps as an alternative. Will give them a go. Is there any specific technique to using them or is it just trial and error?

I wouldn’t use wraps. They’re a very different thing and are meant to be tighter. You’d also need to learn how to use them. Try strength shop (cheaper), SBD or A7. They’re what powerlifters use and they can be big people. Also how are you trying to get them on? I put them onto ankles, then fold top down, bottom up, slide up legs then open them back out. There are videos on YouTube.

Thanks @RayKray I bought my belt from there, checked the sizes and they were similar to GymShark but may be easier to put on.
Have tried the folding in half method, could get those over my calves but when on basically had what I would describe as “muffin top” thighs and whilst I know they should be tight they were painful without even trying to bend my knee.

Strange as unless you have bigger than elite powerlifter size quads they ought to fit. If you google sonita muluh or Brittany schlater they’re both +84 lifters wearing sbd sleeves. Or Jesus oliviares who’s a +120. I’ve no idea on gymshark though. Maybe their sizing isn’t accurate? Or have you bought super stiff ones? They will feel tight.

I had awful trouble getting knee sleeves tried the biggest size in strengh shop and had to go with SBD as slightly larger fitting

I was a good size 22 though! Now thanks to moutjaro I am looking to size down but I am still a good size 20
weight was 122kg now 105kg at 5.5

@everymeeveryyou I have very large thighs and calves, am a size 14 in trousers but legs often mean I have to have stretch/bypass certain styles as they just wont fit! I have A7 "stiff" sleeves in 2XL. I love them, once they're on I don't notice them. Tried the super stiff ones and they were far too much drama! It's probably the shaping of the GS ones which do no favours, some of the other brands are better shaped around the knee joint which gives more space for thighs :)

Just thought I would update everyone, I never found the holy grail of knee sleeves that fitted me properly. I must just have very strange shaped thigh/calf dimensions compared to me knees. I did however buy a pair of knee wraps from Strength Store and they are a revelation. Not too difficult to put on, good support but flexible enough to wear for barbell lunges, squats and for sled leg press. So supportive I could add 20Kg to my leg press without any discomfort at all. Thanks for everyone’s recommendations. I didn’t try the A7 ones but may give them a go in the future.
