Thinking of trying this as a jogging alternative. Anyone here ruck? And what weights and for how long? Xx

I've got the kit but haven't done it consistently! My idea was I'd ruck every day on dog walks, I think I'll commit to it more in winter. I was going to start with 20kg

I have just started this. It's hard to get any kind of workout in with a boisterous 2yo so I've just started carrying weights in a rucksack on our morning walk of an hour. I started small with 3kgs and found it quite easy so tried 4kgs the next day and definitely noticed a difference! Plan is to just increase the weight gradually. If I can keep doing it consistently I'll buy some disc weights as they'll fit better but at the moment I'm just using my normal dumbbells.

Is anyone still doing this? I walk a lot (approx 20,000 steps a day) and am wondering if adding some weights (hand weights or backpack) might add some benefits?

I'm also trying to lose a few pounds but not being successful. I'm already at a healthy weight/BMI, but know that I feel & look better around 7 pounds lighter. I'm quite short and already eat healthily & quite low calories, so looking to see if I can boost my weight loss through exercise.

Brand new, out of the box, first timer....!

So, is anybody rucking..? Have you just started / about to start / thinking about it / been rucking for a while?

People look at me as if I'm quite mad when I tell them about this rucking lark....! 🤪

I tried it yesterday on my dog walk. Added 8kg to my rucksack. Definitely makes walking harder and worked up a sweat.
