Straps?

I've had a quick look and couldn't see another thread but please feel free to link to one if I've missed it!

I've been weight training for a few months now and wanted to hear from people who use straps to help with poor grip. I'm steadily increasing the weight I'm lifting which has been fine for back squats etc. but struggling to lift more for things like RDLs.

Any straps you'd recommend? I still feel like a gym newbie so the simpler, the better!

I have some suede straps from Pioneer which are both comfortable and very grippy (and they're a bright, Barbie pink which always cheers me up 😁)

It's definitely a good idea to use straps for rows, RDLs etc as you don't want your grip to be the limiting factor!

Are you also doing sets without straps (ie deadlifts) to help build up your grip?

I use these:

I do as much as I can without them, my grip strength is coming along well and I use liquid chalk as well when I am not using straps. But straps are really helpful for RDLs etc where grip is the limiting factor.

Thanks everyone. I'll take a look at your suggestions. I'll probably continue doing sets without straps to increase my grip strength @PenelopeTheShroudWeaver. It'll just be nice to attempt a weight I know I can do without feeling as if I'm going to crash the bar down!

I use RDX ones for RDLs and deadlifts. I’m bad at remembering but I try and make sure I do things like farmers walks and dead hangs to improve grip strength.
