What weight kettlebell? Newbie

I’m planning on starting some home workouts. What weight kettlebells should I buy? I was thinking an 8 and 10? Or would I need a 6 or maybe heavier a 1? Any advice appreciated

If you've never used them before, I'd start with a 4 and 6kg and build up. You need to really watch your form too, as it's very easy to damage your back, sorry if you already know that, I've just seen lots of people with bad backs as a result of misusing them!

Depends on which exercises you'll be performing. Kettlebell Kings have a good breakdown of suggested beginner weights for different movement patterns.

And, as said above, be very careful of your form. Kettlebells are excellent fitness tools but unfortunately a widely misused one e.g. consistently performing the kettlebell swing (a fundamental movement) as if it's a squat. 🙄

If you are working out at home then look at videos from instructors who are actually qualified kettlebell professionals. For example:
