Whats the best one?
What's it made of?
How do you take it?

I use My Protein, mostly because I get a discount with my gym. There's loads to choose from and I aim for 140g protein/day (as planned by my PT).

I have the vanilla diet impact whey with my porridge in the morning (mix in after cooking) and I really like the clear protein water, my favourite is the peach tea but you need to let it settle before drinking.

The protein bars are hit and miss as they can be very sweet and sickly. My Protein did some with Hotel Chocolat that are yum and the Grenade ones are good. The protein hot chocolate is really nice in the evening, but best if you mix it using a milk frother.

I also love the Ufit ready to drink protein milks, especially the white chocolate and salted caramel, I have one immediately after a workout.

I have started started taking clear whey isolate from my protein- it’s like squash- much prefer it to the milky stuff. Also just started taking Eaas when I work out. I do seem to have much more stamina with it already🙂

The hot chocolate sounds good!

I use PHD Diet Whey powder, in vanilla or Belgian chocolate flavour. It is viciously sweet (they all are) so I whiz it into a bit of cold milk (can't mix it into hot stuff or it clumps) and then add that to a strong coffee. I tried bunging a bit of raw cacao powder in this morning and that brought the sweetness down even more.

I second using a milk frother to mix the powder into liquids. Works really well, but even so you are best off adding the powder a little at a time while whizzing, rather than dumping it all in at once.

Bar-wise I rarely eat them, but the only ones I quite like are made by Barebells. All the others I have tried are way too sweet and/or have a horrid chemical aftertaste.

The only one I can really stomach is the Sci Mx Ultra whey one in vanilla. 177 cals and 35g protein. I blend it with water and it’s quite nice.

I use MyProtein. Too much whey tends to give me digestive issues so I have their vegan range, shakes bars, cookies, flapjacks, also like the PhD smart plant bars (their whey ones are nicer tasting though). Have had soy shakes but they are quite thick. Not tried the clear protein yet but dh loves the clear whey MP do as it's really light on the stomach so doesn't hinder meals. We do IF so eat in short windows and it can be hard to cram everything in without feeling too bloated.
I always mix my shakes with water, dh adds oil and sometimes milk to his if he wants it more calorie dense.

Hit a big protein goal today with the shake, omelette, prawns, and turkey mince chilli. It makes me really full!
