What's going on with Shock Absorber bras?

The only one I can find in my size is black. I don't want black, I want colourful. I wear lots of black already. I've been trawling the Internet for 6 months and even the website doesn't have any. I'm 30ff in real size and 32f in shock absorber, so maybe I'm just an awkward size. I'm worried the brand has gone, cos I've been wearing them for nearly 20 years (not same one!) , and they're the greatest.

Have a look at panache. They look similar to the shape/style of shock absorber. They give really good support even for high impact workouts and have some really bright and colourful patterns.

I'm just scared to leave! Nothing moves in a SA bra and I can't even feel it on. I recommend them to people all the time. Maybe that's the problem- they've gone and bought my bras!

I've never worn a shock absorber only ever panache but I know what you mean....once you find your perfect bra you don't want to stray.

If it's any help they are very comfortable. Nice wide band, padded straps and nothing to rub/dig in. They wash well and don't seem to go baggy/out of shape.

How does their sizing work? Do you have to do some jiggery pokery?

The backs are a bit smaller/tighter. I'm a 30GG in my day to day bras and usually get a 32gg in the panache ones. I don't do the whole up and back/down a cup thing and it works for me.

I wear 30f normally, 32e in shock absorber and managed to buy some recently on wiggle (it wasn't a place is thought to look until someone mentioned it on here) It was painful trying to find which ones were actually available in my size but found a couple which were both colourful and less than 15 quid

32F = £18

I use this style - holds me in place just as well as the Run and is more comfortable

Quite like this for myself :)

I had the same issue. Shock Absorber were my go to but I struggled to get hold of what I wanted so I had to move brand.
I tried around 30 bras to find the right one for me. I ended up with Maaree which I'd never heard of before but is fantastic and more comfortable than my old SA ones.

I finally managed to find a shock absorber ultimate run bra in my size on the John Lewis website (in blue) after months of looking. I assume they've been affected by one or other of the various Brexit supply chain issues.

UnaOfStormhold · 12/07/2021 12:27

PS, in the process of looking I also got very fed up of the way most websites make me look through each colourway to find my size - my colour choices are flexible, my bra size isn't!

rbe78 · 12/07/2021 12:54

There seem to be loads of bras in 32F on their website...

It's the ultimate run one I like. I keep seeing the multi sport ones, but they don't look as secure as the racer back ones. I don't like the slightest jiggle.

The multi sport still have a racer back, it's just not so high

I might just have to get a few to try, then do the bounce test on the trampoline. Maybe a day off mourning for my ultimate run bra. Apart from almost dislocating my shoulders to put it on, it's the greatest bra in the world.
