Where about do you all get your protein powder from? I'm putting a real effort into my diet just now, but don't get enough protein according to places like Myfitnesspal. I've bought from supermarkets before, but there's not much choice of flavours etc there.

Icon cinnamon flavour. Tried several others, like this one. Put it in porridge, etc.

Tomorrowisanewday · 02/06/2021 18:30

I tend to put it in oats, or in smoothies, with milk, banana and other fruits. I have Phd chocolate just now, but it gets a bit claggy in smoothies.

Protein world or my protein. Lots of choice and quick delivery.

Quidco often does good cash back on them.

Cakeandslippers · 02/06/2021 19:24

My protein have a big selection. They also do tons of protein snacks. They do really good offers very often, so good to keep am eye out

Hopeislost · 02/06/2021 21:49

Myprotein or Bulk for me. They both regularly have big discounts.

I use PHD. It's criminally sweet so I whiz it up in a bit of cold milk and then use it in strong coffee. It gets claggy even so unless I use an aero latte whisk to mix it in.

My protein clear whey isolate tastes like squash and 20g per serving

I use MyProtein protein powder and add it to my porridge each morning. Snacking on Skyr yogurt also helps to increase protein intake, I wasn’t a huge fan of yogurt but I have got used to it.

strawberrydonuts · 13/07/2021 18:22

I use Bulk after a workout.

But honestly, you really only need it if you're doing strength workouts. There are huge misconceptions about how much protein we need in our diets.

Some people up their protein and reduce their carbs to very low/ zero when trying to lose weight. This is a mistake and you can definitely have too much protein.

If you're not strength training, just eat a balanced diet including all of the food groups.

Rollerbird · 14/07/2021 13:55

@tambourinetunes
I do the same with my porridge
Gorgeous.
Soy protein makes it thicken up loads too.

Spodge · 16/07/2021 17:55

@Tambourinetunes - have you tried Kvarg? Similar to Skyr but I think it's a bit nicer.

Tambourinetunes · 17/07/2021 18:01

@Spodge oh no I haven’t but I’ll look out for it thanks for the recommendation. Coming back to this thread has also reminded me that when I order protein powder I usually order a few samples of different flavours, they are usually £1-2 but save me ending up with tonnes of powder I'm not that keen on.

Myplantsare · 17/07/2021 18:03

Form is nice but expensive

drpet49 · 17/07/2021 18:39

I used to use My Protein but switched to Bulk- Bulk are far superior. Tastes better and mixes better.

fishonabicycle · 26/07/2021 20:22

Myprotein - loads of flavours and inexpensive.

BigButtons · 12/01/2022 07:19

I use my protein clear whey isolate.
