Choosing kettlebell weight

I'm looking to buy a kettlebell online, but not sure which weight to go for. I'm currently using 2x5kg dumbbells, so would a 10kg kettlebell be the weight I go for?

I went for a 10kg bell (only one I could get at the time) and have found it to be very useful. Prior to lockdown I would swing an 8 or a 12 in the gym. So the 10 was ideal. Could clean an 8 and struggled with a 12 so the 10 gave me something to work with. The 10 is a bit light for many things now but is still useful for goblet squats to warm up and single arm work.

Thanks. I ordered a 12kg one in the end, they're so hard to get hold of for a decent price right now. Just waiting for it to come. I have quite strong legs, but really weak arms, so think it should be fine for squats or anything leg-related, but arms is going to probably be a struggle, but no pain no gain I guess!

Just be careful that you don't develop bad (and injury-making) technique in response to a too-heavy KB.

I use a 12 for swings and an 8 for arms.

Sorry to high Jack but where is the best place to buy kettle bells ? Amazon seem to have mixed reviews

The 12kg is definitely too heavy for me for anything one-armed. I'm using it at the moment mainly for squats and I've just ordered myself some 7kg dumbbells as the 5kg ones are starting to feel a bit lighter now.

I got my kettlebell from www.fitness-superstore.co.uk. I'm finding it's the prices at the moment on Amazon, they seem crazy high.
