Running jacket

Hi sorry but really sure where to post this. I walk to work early in the morning 06.30 so it’s getting a bit chilly now but then I run home from work 14 hours later. It’s a couple of miles so whilst my run home I’m really warm I’m cold in the morning. There’s no point in running to work as I’d then have to shower etc. Can anyone recommend a decent not overly pricey jacket which would keep me warm in the morning but I could also run home in?

It's difficult because anything that will keep you adequately warm in the morning will be too warm for running.

I have a similar dilemma and I have a small running bag I stash my jacket in for the journey home.

For £50 in Decathlon you could do the same?

Would one of those pack down puffy jackets from Uniqlo work? They are very warm, ime, but squash down into a little bag you could clip to your bag for the way home.

I do have a good running bag (£20 bargin from Amazon) but when I work one of my jobs I have to squeeze in my uniform. This morning was fine but it’s meant to get colder next week. Think I’ll just have to walk quicker to keep me warm!

What about a jacket where you zip the arms off? That might work.

The Houdini doesn't work for me in anything more than a light rain or if I'm out in the rain for more than a couple of hours. It is, however, truly wind resistant. It is devoid of pockets. It's extremely light and airy.
I also have a Helium II from Outdoor Research. On the one medium-heavy 4-hour run I did with it, it was waterproof, but it's also not very breathable. There are no pockets, just like the Houdini. It appeared to be coolest lil peep jacket collection available without costing over $200.

I think if I had to do this i would choose a Rab coat. I would be too warm perhaps bit at least it's lightweight ??!

I run to the office, shower there, and get the train home.
I have a lightweight down jacket that packs small that I take in my running bag in the morning and wear on the way home. The uniqlo ones are fine, or else a mountain brand
