Hey

I’ve fairly recently started lifting... (November)... started cutting on the 2nd of January. I’m heavy, 15st 8.5lbs as of this morning. I’m aiming for 2000kcals a day & averaging a pound a week to come off. I’m lifting heavy 4 days a week & aiming to get a couple of hours cardio in on top of that where it allows, around work.

My clothes are fitting better, I’m just feeling a little discouraged with the speed... Guess I’m just looking for some wise words that it’s better for it to be slow & keep my strength?🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes. It’s hard to do it slow, but also easier in that you’re setting goals which are achievable. I dropped about 13kg (2stone?) by lifting and cardio and counting calories. Weekdays I kept to 1500 per day, weekends didn’t count. So my weight conversion from middle aged dumpiness to a lot more lean muscle (and good numbers re lifting for my age) took a while. But I converted fat to muscle along the way and now I’m pretty strong for a 61 yo.

And muscle burns more energy than fat so the stronger you are, the easier it is.
