Hiya

I’ve started on a home cardio and strength training dvd, currently 5 weeks in.

I’m using a couple of tins of beans at the moment but I’d like to buy some weights. But I haven’t a clue!

Please can I have some recommendations for the size of weight I should be buying and any recommendations for leg weights too would be great. I’m hoping to get them for walking.

Tia

I would get some dumbbell weights, maybe compared to what you've been doing I would get some 5's, 10's, 12's, 15's, and maybe some 20's. That should help you and they would be a lot easier to hold than tins of beans.

If you're new to weights, I'd get 3s, 5s and 10s to start with. You might struggle to do everything with 5s from the very beginning. It's good to have a mix of weights but for a beginner following a programme of cardio and resistance together, 3s and 5s are usually a good start.
