Can anyone help decipher this? Very real dream about stranger that turned out to be a real person!

Really hoping someone has some knowledge of this because it's freaking me out. I had a very real dream involving a strange man. Felt a real connection with him. And he told me his name. Next day, because the dream just seemed to be on my mind a lot, I idly googled him. Right down at the bottom of the images I saw him. What is even stranger is that we studied in the same place a quarter of a century ago, but I left and moved away the term before he started. We even have some acquaintances in common from way back. I'm pretty sure that I've never even heard his name before as it's a very unusual name. That's one of the reasons I looked it up as I assumed my mind had invented it.
Does anyone have any idea as to how on earth this is even possible?

I was just reading your thread and feeling disappointed for you. If I were him, I'd like to know more!
I was also thinking that perhaps you were both astral travelling, and maybe he'd remember you from his "dream" too. Or that you were meant to meet back in college, but he started late/you left early and now were being reunited in this unorthodox way...But alas! 🤣
Keep an eye on future dreams though, something else fascinating might come up.

No, no response at all. Although to be fair, if this was reversed I'd be putting him firmly in the crazy stalker box.
At least I reached out, but I'll just have to live with never knowing!
It's interesting because I'm pretty sure that I've never come across him before in real life. I have a strange memory and normally I'd think it was pretty reliable for people but I do wonder if our paths have indeed crossed. Very unlikely, but not impossible. If he ever does respond I'll update here!

Would have been nice if you got some kind of acknowledgment at least, but regardless I think it was lovely how you remembered so much detail of your dream, got curious and found him in real life and wrote to him.

You do sometimes wonder about this stuff. I was once on a long and difficult project, and I had a really lucid dream about one of the guys on the project, nothing pervy or weird, and I did not know him that well. I dreamt that we were in a shoe shop together, and we were trying to buy him some shoes. A couple of days later I met up with him, and said to him jokingly "god this project is so full on, it is interfering with my sleep", He knew. He had also been there. Weirdest thing ever. The project was nothing to do with shoes. It was like we had actually met in the middle of the night in a bloody shoe shop. I still shake my head now at the ridiculousness of it, and cannot find an explanation. For that reason, it is always worth asking I think, if you sound like a nutter, so be it.

I think you have come across him before, maybe visiting the area before he started, or you've seen him with these mutual friends, and his face and name stuck on your subconcious

I had a dream about Chris Martin (Coldplay) it was very clear to the point where the next day I thought‘I wonder if he’s dreamt about me and I was a stranger in his dream!’
He was having a breakdown in the dream and was sat on my knee and I was cradling him?! Then somehow ended up with his baby, and I was thinking ‘how will I explain this to everyone’ 🤣

I think it’s likely you saw a picture of him - if you were on the course and just missed each other he could have been in group photos or framed photos you saw while on the course. As he is good-looking, you noticed him in that moment. Perhaps your brain has him stashed away in a “road not taken” way and his representation in your dream is about youthful opportunities.

Not possible as I left 2 months before he started!
Think I will just have to chalk this up as a weird experience.
Maybe one day I'll bump into him in the flesh!
At which point he'll probably run like hell from the weirdo 😂
