On which side of the bed ( double bed) do you sleep?

I know it’s a weird question but I’ve noticed that I always sleep on the right hand side of the bed and my husband on the left.
I mean always...no matter where I am I always tend to sleep on the right hand side.
I noticed that my mum sleeps on the right hand side too. When my parents come to visit, my mum sleeps on the right and my dad on the left.
😆🤔

On the left always which is furthest from the door. My mum always sleeps on the right which is furthest from the door in her house lol.

Always on the right, even when alone

TrashPanda · 26/07/2019 21:39

Currently left when standing at the bottom looking at the bed. Was the right before we switched rooms with the kids. Either left or right depending which room we are put in at my parent's house. Always the side closest the door. Even if I'm alone I'll be more towards the door side.

I slept on the left when I was with ex DH, although thinking about it I slept on the left of the double bed I had before we moved in together. Now I still sleep to the leftish because that's the most convenient side to get in and where my bedside table is, but frankly I mostly sleep in the middle / where the dog isn't!

On the left as you look at the bed that is, right as your in it. Mum sleeps the other side as that was nearest the door in all of our houses

EggysMom · 26/07/2019 21:45

On the right side as we lie there (so on left if you stand at the foot of the bed).

In this house that means I'm near the window and DH is near the door. In the last house, I was nearer the door.

Magpiefeather · 26/07/2019 21:45

I used to sleep on the right. Switched to the left side when I was pregnant (closer to the bathroom for all the extra peeing and copious amounts of vomiting), stayed left side when baby was born as side car cot wouldn’t fit on other side. Have stuck with the left side! I think it’s just habits you get into. Nothing weird about it!

BrokenWing · 26/07/2019 21:45

Varies depending on room, thinking back to previous bedrooms/hotels it has always been the side away from the windows and closest to the door. In last house we moved the bed from one wall to the other and I changed sides (didn't realise until thinking about it now), dh doesn't mind which side he is on.

CherryPavlova · 26/07/2019 21:45

If we’re both lying in bed looking at the ceiling, I’m on his right side. He usually gets up first to run dog and then brings me tea, so I can doze on as he’s nearer the door. He gets up to investigate spooky noises too.

QueenOfThorns · 26/07/2019 21:47

I sleep furthest from the door, so I can escape through the window while he is being murdered by an intruder.

soloula · 26/07/2019 21:48

On the left. Was on the right for about 15 years then when I had the DC and I was BF the crib only fit on the left side so I swapped. Haven't BF for about 2 years and DH is itching to swap back but I'm standing my ground as I quite like left now. Grin

BalloonDinosaur · 26/07/2019 21:50

On the left, closest to the door, I've always slept on the left (I think) definitely always when with DP.

I get up at 5am for a day shift so makes sense for me to be nearer the door. And it was the only place we could fit the Moses basket when DS was a baby.

teenmum18 · 26/07/2019 21:50

Atm I'm on the left but it changes when I change the bedroom around.

Imbananas · 26/07/2019 21:57

@Fettuccinecarbonara It’s as you are lying in bed.
I lie on the right
