On which side of the bed ( double bed) do you sleep?

I know it’s a weird question but I’ve noticed that I always sleep on the right hand side of the bed and my husband on the left.
I mean always...no matter where I am I always tend to sleep on the right hand side.
I noticed that my mum sleeps on the right hand side too. When my parents come to visit, my mum sleeps on the right and my dad on the left.
😆🤔

I sleep on the right Smile

DuesToTheDirt · 26/07/2019 17:32

Left side. Maybe I'm a man Confused

Justabadwife · 26/07/2019 17:33

I sleep on the right aswell. 🤔

MoistOwlette · 26/07/2019 17:33

On the left when in bed, but on the right if looking at the bed from the foot of it.

NorthEndGal · 26/07/2019 17:34

Always on the right, he is always on the left, any bed anywhere, even sleeping in a tent

MeganChips · 26/07/2019 17:34

Left side at home.

I work away a lot though and when I’m in hotels then whichever side I fancy! I have no loyalty but DH would hate me if I didn’t let him have the right.

SimonJT · 26/07/2019 17:35

I always sleep nearest the door if I’m sharing a bed, in the middle if I’m on my own.

Imbananas · 26/07/2019 17:36

@DuesToTheDirt 😂😂

I Honestly found it so weird thinking about it and creepy at the same time

Left as lie on it. DH nearest the door, always been that way. DM was always on the left too but that was nearest the door.

Bunnylady53 · 26/07/2019 17:38

Left side at home ( nearest the door)

CupoTeap · 26/07/2019 17:38

I'm happy to go on whatever side isn't wanted as when on my own I sleep across the bed.

PatriciaHolm · 26/07/2019 17:39

Left as lying on it at home.

Right as lying on it at DP's

Not fussed when away. Have just been in business trip and did both!

Imbananas · 26/07/2019 17:40

So it’s not a woman/man thing...I wonder what factors help us decide on which side of the bed to sleep?!

OP posts:
Aragog · 26/07/2019 17:41

At home - always on the right

Elsewhere, on holidays etc - it varies. i decide when i go in the room. dh doesn't care which side.

Knickersononeshead · 26/07/2019 17:42

Looking from the bottom of my bed, I sleep on the left

Fettuccinecarbonara · 26/07/2019 21:16

Are you talking about from the bottom of the bed (looking up) or lying to the left/right of your partner?

I sleep on the right as you look at it from the bottom, but to the left of DH

HouseworkAvoider10 · 26/07/2019 21:20

In my own home - on the left.
In my siblings and in my mums - also on the left.

PoppingOneOutIn2020 · 26/07/2019 21:20

DP insists he 'has to sleep drivers side' which is really fucking annoying to be honest.

Even if we go to a hotel or what not.

I can only sleep on my left side and DP always moans i sleep with my back to him.. I asked if he wants to swap sides and he refuses! Bloody idiot man child.

He says he likes to sleep drivers side but he and up man smothering me on my side all night when I'm already a sweaty pregnant mess in this heat!

hormones are raging today

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 26/07/2019 21:24

I always sleep on the furthest side from the door.

ErrmWTAF · 26/07/2019 21:27

When ex-DH and I were together, he slept on the side closer to the door and I slept on the less convenient side.

Note the "ex"...

fraxion · 26/07/2019 21:27

On the left when in bed, but on the right if looking at the bed from the foot of it.

Same here regardless of which bed we sleep in, travelling etc. If my husband is away then I starfish across the middle.

happygiraffey · 26/07/2019 21:31

The side furthest from the window. I used to try and avoid the draught when I was younger and it's become an instinctive habit

Freddolin · 26/07/2019 21:31

Left at home. But that changes when we're away as DH is always by the door.

BizzzzyBee · 26/07/2019 21:32

I always slept on the right side (facing the foot). But when I was pregnant I switched to the left side because it’s recommended to sleep on your left and I wanted to face outwards for fresh air, not lie on my left facing inwards towards sweaty DH. After I gave birth I switched back to the right side so I could co sleep and have my dominant arm around the baby on the outside of the bed.

When I’m on my own I tend to choose the side closest to the window. DH whinges though because he thinks we should have fixed sides and doesn’t like to swap if “my side” isn’t closest to the window.

bellinisurge · 26/07/2019 21:33

Right side -nearer the door so I can get to the door when dd cries.
