Been asked to leave yard because I’m a SW

YipYapPaddywack · 04/04/2024 13:21

I’m a discreet sex worker and have been for 4 years. I do very well and pay all my tax etc.
My family are aware of what I do, my eldest (17) is semi aware but because iv done it so long its just a “normal” job, in the fact I go to work and come home every day.
we have a pony who we have owned for 2 years, last year we moved the pony 5 mins away from home. It’s been fabulous, my daughter loves it and had made lots of friends there, but we usually keep ourselves to ourselves.
The YO texted me last week and said that circumstances are changing and she’s had to ask a few people to leave, as I was one of the last to join she said we had to leave. Obviously daughter was/is very upset. Turns out she hasn’t asked any of the other 5 people who joined after us. It’s only us. It came out yesterday that somehow someone on the yard found out what I do and told her, and she obviously doesn’t agree with what I do so has asked me to leave.
The worst part is, they are treating me now like scum. Literally won’t speak to me or look at me, has ignored all my messages, and is making me so anxious that I’m refusing to go down and my husband and daughter are doing it. We’re looking to move asap but everywhere that’s close is full. I’m so stressed. Obviously I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep it secret forever but I wasn’t expecting for my child to be punished because of something I choose to do behind closed doors.

I mean, it’s other posters claiming they have massively high paying jobs on this thread….OP reckons she’s one of OnlyFans top earners. Paying more in tax than you and I do. Just whipping up a buffet 😂

GinForBreakfast · 04/04/2024 15:56

A "sex worker" who never has sex, does anything "graphic", or shows their "private parts", but earns £££s.
Are you keeping your unicorn at that yard OP?

RosiePosieCantLogIn · 04/04/2024 15:59

You show nothing graphic but must be one of OFs top earners judging by what you say you pay in tax.

So men are paying you top whack to see photos of you in your Sunday best with everything covered?

I'm sure 😂

WhereIsBebèsChambre · 04/04/2024 16:12

Op says 'no sex with other MEN' so is there sex with females? Oh wait, sex working with no sex..

ABirdsEyeView · 04/04/2024 16:30

I've not read the whole thread yet but if the yard know about your job, it's because either someone who works there or is another customer, has been using porn and come across you. So I'm not sure why you are getting the negative judgement more than the skanky bugger who is purchasing the services of sex workers!

I'm not sure a business can discriminate against you on the basis of your job, assuming it's legal. So I'd get legal advice and not go quietly if the solicitor tells you they are on dodgy ground. They are fucking rude at any rate!

Oh ffs. What is wrong with you? She has said she is a cam girl. That is classed as sex work. But doesn’t involve sex with people, unless that’s the types of videos she does. She says it isn’t. Get over it.

I mean, really, what is wrong with you? Trying to reach like that. You may not like any part of the porn or sex industry but you certainly seem to enjoy fantasy with the reaching and making things up you’re doing here.

Rhoticity · 04/04/2024 18:35

YipYapPaddywack · 04/04/2024 14:06

Iv never had sex with another man.

I'm guessing you’ve never watched porn before? Or your husband?

porn has been around a long long time, what I do isn’t anything graphic or extreme. Maybe google sploshing and WAM, actually don’t.

I do absolutely nothing that would be deemed “sexual”. It’s a niche. I play with food, get messy and film it. There clearly is a huge market for it.

How are you a sex worker if you don't do anything sexual

CalisthenicsOnDemand · 04/04/2024 19:07

Anameisaname · 04/04/2024 14:49

OP: I would like some advice on how to deal with this issue which I think came from my work (which is legal but not the norm) but I am worried about my DD and do I have any recourse
MN: ugh gross sex work how could you do this work

Where has the OP said ANY of that?
All she's said is that she wasn't expecting her child to be punished and is anxious at being treated like scum. Not whether it's legal or if there's any recourse. Fair enough for people to express their viewpoints.

@ABirdsEyeView Occupation isn't a protected characteristic. So yes, they absolutely can discriminate on that basis. A legal battle is also not in the OP's best interests, as she'd be advertising her occupation to the world. Like it or not, most people don't approve of it. How is everyone knowing going to bring her any benefit? Especially as she's leaving her previous animal in their care. I wouldn't leave my pets anywhere where the good relationship had broken down. OP earns lots and pays loads and loads of tax, a measly pay out isn't going to help surely.

You can't do anything about it OP. But, if this thread is even real, surely the main thing you should be worrying about is how you were 'outed'. You're very naïve for thinking your content can't be leaked just because you have a team who can take it down. There are many ways to change the encoded data of the video so that the leak can't be detected, you can't prevent people from taking photos of the screen or things like that. You seem to have been lulled into a false sense of security.

As you have seen, this is just the start. And, If you're thick skinned enough to take it, continue. If not, time to quit. BTW it's not even about proof, just the allegation as you have seen. Why didn't you deny it? By caving in you've admitted the truth. For all you know it could've been made up.

Honestly OP I can't believe you expected anything else on mumsnet. They love to pearl clutch and make judgements from their fake 60000k a year jobs.
It's not fair that the yard are treating you this way, sex work is real work as long as you're making a truly free choice. I have someone really close to me who is a sex worker and has an amazing life because of it and I adore her, I do a professional job, it makes 💯 no difference to our relationship or how i feel about her. In fact I admire her to be honest and I am really proud of her. Unfortunately people are judgey, try to look at it that you wouldn't want to be friends with those type of people anyway.

Should the job centre start posting adverts for prostitutes? Letting pimps and Johns post ads up to find themselves a sex worker? Should careers advisors be advising 14, 15, 16 year old girls that being fucked by men for money is a worthy career option? I mean it’s just work isn’t it?

everyone has a story of a “happy hooker” to justify why sex work is hunky dory but it’s really not.

XelaM · 05/04/2024 08:57

I don't believe this thread is real, but on the off chance it is - the yard owner has every right to ask you to leave and there's nothing you can do about it. I would not want my teenage girl thinking OnlyFans is a lucrative career choice. However, I also don't know how people know what you do unless you talk about or advertise it. Maybe buy your own yard if you're that wealthy from your day job? 🤷‍♀️

Nope, nothing wrong with me. Shall go away devastated that wonderful you is flying the cool girl defensive flag for what a great industry that sex work is. Yay cam girls.

Niassa · 05/04/2024 13:35

Is it still the school holidays?

I don’t like sex work. I don’t agree with porn due to the exploitation. I don’t like cam girls because it encourages the idea that women are for sale. But I still wouldn’t make up ideas that a cam girl is having sex with people for money. She said she doesn’t do videos like that, and she isn’t a prostitute. But you reply with what I’m sure you thought was a genius little quip that she must be paid to have sex with women since she only said “men.”
Grow up.

WhereIsBebèsChambre · 05/04/2024 14:26

@WarshipRocinante given the ops thread title re getting asked to leave because she's a 'sex worker' then the horror of her and others of 'how dare you say a sex worker works in sex' it's not surprising I and others aren't taking everything as initially written.

Postapocalypticcowgirl · 07/04/2024 14:33

Anameisaname · 04/04/2024 14:06

I think people are being very prudish on this thread. I'd say if you are doing nothing illegal then it's shocking that they are judging you based on some fake assumptions about your job. If it's legal, it's legit. There are plenty of jobs we may not approve or or like... I'm not a fan of those bailiffs that rip out meters and leave people without gas but hey ho.
However I don't know where you stand legally. It's a private business and presumably they can admit their clients and make decisions on who they admit.
Personally I'd be writing them a forceful letter asking them if they've got a policy around why they block clients and can they explain how that policy is fairly applied. You could also try to force their hand on the protected characteristics side as your DD is female. And tell them that you are concerned they are discrimating against her on the grounds of sex. They'll say no of course but then they'll be forced to explain what it is instead

Yeah, don't do this OP- regardless of legalities, if you get a reputation for making trouble, then you'll likely really struggle to find livery ever.

The sex discrimination line definitely won't work because most of their clients will be female.

It's very likely the livery yard has clause in their contract which says they can terminate their services at any time for any reason- this is pretty standard.

Postapocalypticcowgirl · 07/04/2024 14:37

OP, I'd definitely ask other local yards if you can go on their waiting lists. I'd also look further afield to see if there are any part livery or similar options that might be workable.

I'd also put a wanted ad out on facebook (or get your daughter to)- sometimes this can bring up smaller yards you aren't aware of, or help you find someone who has liveries at home etc.

Also, ask all your horsey contacts e.g. farrier, instructor etc if they know of anything.

You may have to accept a less than ideal situation for a little while, but hopefully long term you can find something suitable. I'd be up front with people about why you had to leave your previous yard, so you don't run into this again. Many YOs don't care where your money comes from as long as you pay the bills on time and don't cause trouble on the yard.

Equally, for many YOs, the yard is also part of their home, and you can see on this thread a lot of people ARE uncomfortable with it, whether you view that as right or wrong or not.

crinkletits · 07/04/2024 22:45

WhereIsBebèsChambre · 04/04/2024 13:35

The length of time you've done it won't make it a 'normal job' to many, sorry and its a bit grim your child knows about it. I know that's not the cool girl attitude but it's what many think.

Some not many.

crinkletits · 07/04/2024 22:50

Do you know what providing you looked after your horses and tidied up after yourself I couldn't give a crap what someone does for a job provided it legal. It's nothing to do with anyone else and all these awful replies say more about the person posting than who they're posting about. I think you've been treated really badly and think you should get off the yard asap - however there will be gossip and I think you'd be better on a bigger yard! Best of luck!
