*"I am afraid it is sad news from the farm.

As many of you will have seen this evening, Queenie went into much anticipated labour. At 11.45pm she gave birth to a beautiful filly foal. Although she had a perceptible heartbeat when she was born she was not breathing. Emma, tried hard and long to get her to breathe with the help of Farmer Morris. None of our efforts could save her and she peacefully slipped away a few minutes after her birth.

As you can imagine, we are all devastated by this awful and unexpected outcome. Although watchers of the foaling tonight will have seen the true grim realities of animal husbandry this in no way belittles the personal sense of tragedy and loss we are all feeling. The sense of bitter disappointment is tempered only with the fact that the filly foal did not suffer at all."*

Webpage has been updated and the webcam is now off - right decision IMO.

The staff must all be so upset.

Although she had a perceptible heartbeat when she was born she was not breathing. Emma, tried hard and long to get her to breathe with the help of Farmer Morris. Throughout this period a vet was on the phone talking the team through procedures. None of our efforts could save her and she peacefully slipped away a few minutes after her birth.

We hope you will understand that we are no longer having the webcam in Queenie?s stable.

I feel so sad for Emma, she must be very upset :(

Disasterpiece · 13/07/2011 00:39

Sorry if this is crass but i was just wondering if anyone knows how long the foal will be left with Queenie?

Disasterpiece · 13/07/2011 00:40

I was just thinking that amy Emma tried so hard.

Disasterpiece · 13/07/2011 00:41

I also wonder if they will get her an orphaned foal?

HadAThreesomeWithFredAndGeorge · 13/07/2011 00:42

she probably wouldn't accept it even if they could disaster

HoneyNorwegianRidgebackdragon · 13/07/2011 00:43

Emma certainly didn't give up, must be so bitterly sad for them all tonight.

Disasterpiece · 13/07/2011 00:44

Is that because she knows her foal had died?

AmyStake · 13/07/2011 01:06

Emma has been in to check on Queenie and she seems to be fine, the foal has been left with her so she can accept what has happened.

I hope Queenie and Emma are OK tonight.

Disasterpiece · 13/07/2011 02:16

I cant sleep for thinking about Queenie and all concerned Sad

EveryonesJealousOfWeasleys · 13/07/2011 07:03
