You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement for school staff to let off steam.

Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to non-staff as it attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation. Do not sit on the chairs and do wear a mask. Finally, upload your covid test results twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The feeling crap is probably down to the double anaemia, Piggy! Are you on any tablets yet?

Don't know anything about inflammation markers though, did you doctor have any theories?

Piggywaspushed · 07/06/2021 19:39

Doctor just mentioned rheumatoid arthritis.

I have 3 sodding months worth of iron tablets!

ChloeDecker · 07/06/2021 19:40

I’m so sorry, I don’t know Piggy. I can imagine that there are lots of people who had Covid but didn’t know because of no testing last Spring and therefore may well be suffering long Covid but not sure what it is. Hope you can take it easy tonight Flowers

Piggywaspushed · 07/06/2021 19:42

Don't fancy the peanut butter but that does sound nice.

DollyMixtureLulus · 07/06/2021 19:44

Salted date peanut butter sounds fantastic- where do you get it?

I survived infants! God I'm tired. They were very lovely and one told me I am very beautiful. Apparently she says it to everyone but I'm going to take it!

DanglingMod · 07/06/2021 19:52

RA is an autoimmune condition and autoimmune diseases usually flag up with inflammatory markers. Crohn's, lupus, even depression are other autoimmune illnesses which can be linked. And you are likely predisposed to one of the systemic ones if you have more than one of asthma, eczema, psoriasis...

(I just had to check spelling of eczema. I never have to check spelling of anything Shock)

Yumello is the PB with dates. ££££££ (first jar was a present from an enabler).

Piggywaspushed · 07/06/2021 20:06

I don't have those three things, thankfully. At least, I bloomin hope not!

JanFebAnyMonth · 07/06/2021 20:09

I did notice there’s an autoimmune disease section in Health today piggy, probably worth lurking? Or for Long Covid there are facebook groups aren’t there, again perhaps worth reading?

Yes I think it’s hilarious when you whisk eggs and the Fitbit gets excited!

Piggywaspushed · 07/06/2021 20:18

I have seen that section Jan. Nothing in there atm but will look again.

Today I ate APRICOTS and SULTANAS and CEREAL and toast but with marmite (actually should have had cereal on my list before : I eat bread and ice and cereal). I hope you are all proud of me. Now I have a bad stomach...Grin

Reintroduction of masks

CarrieBlue · 07/06/2021 20:32

Knitting is excellent for pleasing the Fitbit in my experience Wink

SquashedFlyBiscuits · 07/06/2021 20:32

Hello everyone, I seem to have lapsed back into lurking only but I am still around. School is very hard. A number of things (not covid) happened last term that made it harder. Still, only 6 weeks and 2 days to go.

I am in a low area for covid but my class seem to have seen all the people and been to all the places this holiday plus no testing for primary so we shall see how the next few weeks goes.

PPA tomorrow. Yipee!

MrsHerculePoirot · 07/06/2021 21:03

@Piggywaspushed have you/could you do the antibodies test? I know it didn’t always show but might? I mean I’ve no clue really…. Hope you get some answers soon anyway.

ChloeDecker · 07/06/2021 21:04

Still, only 6 weeks and 2 days to go.

Just keep remembering that @SquashedFlyBiscuits we can do it!

Piggywaspushed · 07/06/2021 21:05

I think antibodies only last a few months don't they?

noblegiraffe · 07/06/2021 21:06

Sorry to hear you've had a difficult term, Squashed, hopefully you'll have a relatively straightforward ride till summer.

noblegiraffe · 07/06/2021 21:07

Yeah if you had it last March they wouldn't be able to tell now, piggy. Presumably it would also say 'you have antibodies' because you've been vaccinated?

CallmeHendricks · 07/06/2021 21:08

My Fitbit has worn itself out. I managed to get it back buzzing (thanks @TheHoneyBadger) but now it buzzes all the bloody time! Texts, WhatsApp, phone calls, FB messages, goal reached, 10 minute warning before the next hour, hydration reminders....
I think if I showed it a pan of risotto it might explode.

ChloeDecker · 07/06/2021 21:09

Sure it was the Fitbit!? GrinWink

noblegiraffe · 07/06/2021 21:15

Texts, WhatsApp, phone calls, FB messages

Oh it must be so tiresome being popular, Ange. Grin

JanFebAnyMonth · 07/06/2021 21:16

Eve if piggy were able to prove she had COVID last March that wouldn’t necessarily mean her current symptoms are related to that, I guess?

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 07/06/2021 21:22

Washing my hair = 1000 steps
Doing interesting things in places like beds = doesn't get picked up at all

Weird.
