You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement for school staff to let off steam.

Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to non-staff as it attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation. Do not sit on the chairs and do wear a mask. Finally, upload your covid test results twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Seen the massive Bank Holiday next year that we profit not one jot from??

So we had a vote when we wanted the extra day. So its only 189 days next year.

It had to be when the y11 had left. So the winning for was a random Monday in July. Better than nothing and I didn't want it tagged onto a holiday.

Just read the Wolverhampton guidance mother, I see it’s only a recommendation - so presumably it will to some extent (as with all the guidance) depend on how enthusiastically heads promote it.

We had an email to see we did and we had to vote for when. Oh school have added it to Christmas.

@JanFebAnyMonth I teach in Wolves and my children go to school in Wolves too. I’ve been emailed by my head to say PCR tests requires and my children came home with a letter last Friday to say the same. We also still wear masks. Wolves bucking the trend!

Love little babies. I so wish mine could be little again. I wasted all of their lovely baby years trying to convince myself and everyone else it was all fine and I didn't have PND. I found it really hard. Hope they don't hate me for it now.

It's time to write up evidence against the teacher standards . Where do I even start? Feel like I can't just say, yep I've done that. If anyone has any ideas I'll be so grateful. Apart from that I'm back to the evidence folder now. Trying to get it as sorted as possible before it has a look over next week before the big hand in.

Actually feeling quite sick as my essay isn't back yet and if I can't get my folder right I'm worried about failing at this late stage.

Having half an hour off before I start again. Hoping to get a lot done in the next 2 days to leave the weekend for planning.

I wondered if Kevan would resign, that’s what government-appointed tsars usually do (if they have some self respect) and their proposals are rejected. It usually takes a year or so, not a few months though!

School are employing you because they’ve seen you in action: they really have chosen YOU. So just write down what they must have written on their Selection form. 💐

Oooh! Congratulations Hobnobs! Such wonderful news! It all seems such a long time ago to me now that the DDs are teenagers.

I've been to see my mum today for the first time in months. So lovely to see her and do something normal.

I haven't dared look at the school proposals in detail yet. I expect they will be ill-thought out, badly underfunded and doomed to fail. And all our fault when it all goes wrong. I may brave some of the coverage later to find out what's in store.
