You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement for school staff to let off steam.

Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

Do not give the staffroom password to non-staff as it attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation. Do not sit on the chairs and do wear a mask. Finally, upload your covid test results twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Happy half term everyone. Did any of your schools have police outside to quell the leavers groups? There were even 2 hidden in the shrubbery.

My school is good too. The kids are lovely. One policeman said they don't have the same trouble with a whole town leavers night in Manchester where all the schools meet up.

I cried saying bye to my form. Got loads of gifts and about 50 cards. Blown away. What a lovely year group.

Then we got a case in year 10

My super dyslexic every SEN boy sent flowers and gin and a lovely card. My eyes leaked.
On the train home. I can hear my pjs calling.

Highlight of the day (gin aside) - saying that Banquo is circumspect and year 10 falling apart. New Bob is the only one brave enough to ask whether I really mean he's had his thingy chopped off.

We had our Leavers Assembly today. Year 13s in their customised old school uniform had me shed a little tear today. They then migrate onto the local park and our Head etc. ‘watches’ them for a few hours.

I went to bed at 10pm and slept until 10am

4 weeks to go!!! I’ve decided I’m going to go on holiday and lie in the sun. Just going to wait and get something last minute.

We made it!! Tonic is chilling in the fridge. I may need a little nap first.

Yr11 and 13 both had my eyes leaking today. Sweethearts.

So, so tired. Thank God for a week off and gained time next term.

Thats sweet. Our y11's go down the river and get drunk. Worrying.

No more school for a week! And no more Year 11! Today was their last day, so I've of them drove himself to school...

Going to catch up with the thread now, I've been in a Tag induced coma this week.

We had a whole load of year 11 sent home before their leavers assembly. Not because of covid, but because of bad behaviour. There were apparently several bottles of vodka found in bags (the rumour is that these were given to them by one of the bus drivers), and vaping in the toilets. The majority were lovely though, and were waved off by SLT at 12 (read escorted off site so they couldn't cause trouble).

I headed straight home and out again to collect our new puppy. He's been for a play in the garden, peed in the living room and is now sound asleep by my feet. Thoroughly gorgeous.

I have gin. My takeaway has arrived. I have crap tv to watch.

Happy half term everyone! Friday is my day off but my kids had a training day so they were press ganged into helping clean the midden that was our house. They didn’t complain and so I treated them to cream cakes and an afternoon of screens!

Happy half term! I share an office with the school's most popular teacher. I'd like to say seeing the mounting piles of presents and cards didn't dent my self esteem, but I'd be lying. I work my guts out for my Yr11 but lucky if I get one card. It always smarts a little. Onwards to a week of marking before the Tag deadline first day back!!

Evening. Happy half term - we made it!

I came in from work knackered and ravenous so cooked myself steak and chips and had a couple of glasses of wine whilst finishing up watching 'master of none' (so good) on the sofa.

Valancy I'm glad it's not just me who feels a little kicked in the teeth when one teacher was bragging about being given a lobster...
(Kids driving tractors to school and leaving presents of a lobster - you can tell I'm in Cornwall!)

I love the lobster as gift 🤣
We have a couple of students who bring pheasants, eggs or sides of lamb.
My best thing this year is a hand drawn card with a message from three of my girls telling me that I inspire them with my strength and independence. They've obviously missed my wobbles, but I'll take that.
