Definitely go for it when. Schools expect us to change jobs if something more convenient comes up. Don't worry about what they'll think of you applying.

We don't have hr or occupational health either piggy. We've had some members of staff with ongoing medical conditions who have been completely unsupported through it. I don't think we've got anyone who takes the piss though, not at my current school. At my first school there were 3 teachers who were "ill" the day after every parents evening. It was very well known in the staff room that X, y and z would just not be in school on those days.

Still haven't heard anything about my tlr application. Deadline was 9am Friday and they reckoned interviews were likely to take place on Tuesday so? However we had a positive case in year 9 on Friday morning and that would have been all hands on deck so likely to delay dealing with things.

Had a chat with a girl I trained with who was warning me about the whole anti part timers getting tlr business. She went part time after her first maternity leave and her school said she couldn't do her pastoral role as a part timer and claimed they couldn't give her time for it (it was a role that came with allocated time) because she was needed in the classroom more.

The irony is that to this day she is still paid for it because they couldn't take away the pay for it without having penalised her for maternity leave or some such. They are throwing away money to stand by their policy of not giving any responsibility to part timers.

I do have some good news today. The recommended teacher look worked on the dishwasher and it is now working.

It worked on my grill/oven thermostat recently as well, along with a severe telling off.

I could do with someone giving a hard stare to my kitchen dimmer switch. Currently sometimes it switches straight on but more often you stand there bashing at it with varying degrees of force and different angles of impact until it magically turns on at some point.

Just do it MrsH. I so had the fear doing mine and had to force myself to just hit send when it was time to hand it in.

I know yours is a bigger deal being a whole new job but it's the same in the sense of what have you actually got to lose?

I'm trying... my main issue (apart from crippling fear) is that I applied for another job there a few years ago and that means it has to be a whole new letter.
