You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention
@noblegiraffe have reported that post on your thread about the ‘klaxon’. Didn’t want to say it there incase I was accused of being a ‘fan girl’.

Are our posts here scoured by ThemforUs???
Without a doubt they scan the republics - we then get told off by mnhq. It must have been rather irritating for Twats for Themselves when we were focused on Chris/Thor

At least, after a couple of requests, mnhq no longer have us on the most active posts list

@StaffRepFeistyClub

No summons for my jab yet (fat and fifty)
You need that on a t-shirt with the added ‘beautiful and proud’.
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 19/02/2021 16:49

@Piggywaspushed

If anyone is being thrown under a bus , it is the clinically vulnerable. When people say 'all the vulnerable have been vaccinated' they are spouting absolute shitewank.
It’s basically just Great Barrington in disguise isn’t it? Vaccinate the most vulnerable and let everyone else carry on as they like even the vulnerable is not much different to shielding the same group IMHO.

Also best if we didn’t balls up the vaccinations at the last minute by allowing high transmission.

Saucery · 19/02/2021 16:49

No invitation for me yet (a shade over 50, offered a flu jab for the first time 2 weeks after my birthday).
DH and I joked about driving into the vaccination Centre like an ageing Bonnie And Clyde this afternoon as we passed it. Buffs up, demanding our vaccinations Grin

motherrunner · 19/02/2021 16:52

No email to say whether posts have been deleted though ...

It just infuriates me that a post that is designed to instigate debate is just high jacked because of a name.

It’s just like at school. No offence to NQTS (we were all there) but a school with too many younger staff don’t want to rock the boat. It’s us ‘oldies’ who try to ‘fight’ but are labelled ‘renegade’.

motherrunner · 19/02/2021 16:54

Right, it’s am now opening wine so won’t be on the main boards and if I check in here, less forgive me for misspellings (more than usual), pity parties and extra Cillian M lusting.

motherrunner · 19/02/2021 16:55

*I’m

I so need a new eye test. I’m typing with glasses on!

Mistressiggi · 19/02/2021 16:59

I really need to catch up on the thread. Had a long walk today and then an enormous doughnut as an unnecessary reward.

JanFebAnyMonth · 19/02/2021 17:04

Hope Ophelia's OK after this morning.

MrsHamlet · 19/02/2021 17:05

Our NQT told me I was brave the other week when I told her just to say no to some dumbarse "request" which a) should really have come to me anyway b) would have created her loads of extra work.
I just said I thought that it was stupid and we shouldn't engage with stupid the assistant hoy with no teaching load

MrsHamlet · 19/02/2021 17:06

Ophelia will need nice things to look at later.

namechangedyetagain · 19/02/2021 17:12

Hope everyone is ok esp @MrsHamlet and @OpheliasCrayon

I've submitted my essay, i know roughly what I'm teaching next week (just need to type it into lesson plans) so I'm opening the gin. Possibly. I think. Can't decide what to go for.

Have not yet started on the job applications though still not convinced of my abilities

So to gin or not to gin?

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 19/02/2021 17:13

All set for next Sat.

Me too!

I didn't look at that thread after someone posted 'I don't care if schools are unsafe, I want them open and my kids in them'. Which is just about as questionable as it gets. Idiots.

MrsHamlet · 19/02/2021 17:14

Gin. You can help me plan a presentation on quality first teaching. You can start by telling WTF that actually is....

noblegiraffe · 19/02/2021 17:15

It’s got everything. Hot men, ancient cocks and a long-lens photographer snapping us while we sunbathe.
noblegiraffe · 19/02/2021 17:17

Quality first teaching, MrsH is not teaching things so badly that they need teaching again properly (quality second teaching).

I think this is me now, sadly. Pregnant, history of gestational diabetes, precarious IVF pregnancy (according to HT this adds an extra point on RA document, as does the GD), overweight.

I started this pandemic as a relatively healthy - and considerably thinner - 33 year old with no risk factors. I was very chilled about the whole thing. How life has changed!

Timeturnerplease · 19/02/2021 17:20

@noblegiraffe I daren’t quote it here but your one liner on another thread made me spit my drink out 😂

Ffs. Do I want to work somewhere that wants me to do a presentation in which I say "I'll do it right the first time@?
namechangedyetagain · 19/02/2021 17:24

Ah I've heard that mentioned a lot @MrsHamlet. Should have a stock interview answer ready shouldn't l?

Can't even decide which gin to have. Am down to tonic, aromatic tonic or elderflower tonic. So has to go with that. Hendricks would be nice but no cucumberSad

Get signed off!

I am healthy - low bmi, run 50 miles a week etc but have crazy anxiety. My GP put me on Sertraline last August and it’s helped so much but she was ready to sign me off. She was so understanding of where our anxiety stemmed from. If I called her today she would sign me off. Please reach out.

MrsHamlet · 19/02/2021 17:27

What are your gin choices?

Saucery · 19/02/2021 17:30

I love elderflower tonic, name but it does have to be with a sharp gin and nothing fancy. Dyfi Distillery and Cuckoo Gin do a nice range for future reference.
I have poured a Bombay Bramble over frozen raspberries. Just a small one. I have no tonic.
